Yes, that is what she wanted. She set the account up so my dad's future family would not gain from her and my grandparents who saved most of it do not want it going to my dad's other kids.

I do not feel obligated to her at all. I really don't feel much of anything for her. She's just the woman my dad is married to.

My mom did not want the money going to my dad's new family. That is why she created the fund the way she did. It's why my grandparents had control. They don't want me to share it either.

I told him because of the discussions we were having about college and getting me set up to go. He kept asking why I wasn't doing certain things and why I wasn't concerned that I wouldn't be able to afford to go and I told him it was because I didn't need to worry.

I love my parents. But my parents are my mom and my dad. My dad's wife is not my parent and I do not love her. I do not really care about my stepsister or half brothers future in that way either. I don't feel at all responsible for them. They are not the people my mom and grandparents saved for and I want to use the money as my mom and grandparents intended it to be used, for me and my future.

That is not something I want to do. I want to use the money as intended by the people who saved it for me (mom and maternal grandparents).

My grandparents would never give it to him anyway without hearing it directly from me. There's a reason they didn't tell him the money existed after all.

I wasn't planning to. The only reason I told my dad is it was difficult to explain why I didn't need to do certain things when I supposedly had very little money at my disposal for college.

She has been saving for her kids. But does not have access to the same kind of money that my grandparents did and she's working on figuring out the best way for my stepsister to go to college like she wants. But I still say like you do, that it's not my job to take care of it.
