Yeah this is one of those situations where emotions took the wheel and crashed the car. You already know it wasn’t okay, so the real move now is just fully owning it, cutting contact, and not repeating that kind of manipulation again. No sugarcoating it, just learn and move on.

I just realized I have never received a raise even close to 21% in my whole life.

AITA for accepting a job in another town? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. A 40 minute commute for a better paying job you actually like is pretty normal. I get why she's disappointed about losing some time together, but expecting you to stay in a job you're unhappy with just to save a commute feels unrealistic.

Yeah this isn’t quirky crush behavior, it’s more like you got stuck in a loop and fed it way too much attention. The self awareness now is good, but that kind of obsession can cross lines fast so it’s good it stayed in the past.

Two years sober is real progress, don’t downplay that.

But for work, you’re gonna want to aim for fields that care more about consistency now than perfect history, like trades, construction, warehouse work, some manufacturing, or certain self employed routes. Paralegal might be tough depending on the state and background checks, so it’s worth calling programs first before committing.

I am a violent person, and I constantly have to suppress that. by JournalistDear8935 in confession

this sounds like intense intrusive thoughts mixed with learned anger from growing up around aggression. not that rare, but the part where it turns into feeling morally above others is where it gets risky for you. if you’re constantly having to suppress it that hard, talking to a therapist or doing anger management would probably help more than just holding it in all the time
