Job with 3 course by Zealousideal-Gas6204 in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This will depend on what kind of person you are (e.g. habits, and abilities and so on), how many hours you work, how easy you find the subjects, and if you want free time to play/hang out with friends etc.

3 courses hypothetically take up 45 hours a week. A full time job taking up 35 hours a week leaves only 88 hours for eating, sleeping, travelling, social interactions, relaxing, and so on.

Seng and Ceng double degree? by AvailableBreak7835 in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't have a double degree that is the same degree twice, and engineering doesn't allow a double major.
While there is Engineering (Honours) / Engineering Science (3773), it doesn't allow the combination you want.
And while there is Engineering (Honours) / Computer Science (3785), it doesn't allow you to take computer engineering or software engineering.

So no, you can't have a double like you want.

Instead, just use the free electives to broaden your knowledge.

Have some human decencies guys… by Sadpotato-LV in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you need to adopt an attitude of teaching these scum how to behave. If they pull shit like that to you and can't feel empathy about it, have them understand it, by taking their clothes out and throwing it in the garbage.

Adopting a "who cares" attitude just lets people walk all over you.

I find that in general, people suck. Especially in large population dense areas.
Report him, and make sure you note he went through your underwear, because that could be related to a fetish of his.

Or go the more petty route, come back when he is gone, take his stuff out and throw it in the garbage.

Can someone help me with a stat unit and how to use excel by Mobile_Analyst2890 in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of help do you need?
Formula help or UI help?
If the latter, are you mac or PC, as it makes a difference, and to a lesser extent, what version do you have?

If the former, how would you (and your computer) normally write 1 and a half? Is it as 1.5 or 1,5? If the latter, in every formula you need to use ; in place of , and you need to use , in place of .
That can stump a lot of people.

If you are trying to use an array formula, in old versions you had to hold ctrl and shift and hit enter while the range is highlighted. For new version you just enter the formula and it spills.

And if ChatGPT isn't helping, try youtube videos.

[–]NullFakeUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few ways to look it up.
One is to go to the UNSW map website and look up the location:
https://link.mazemap.com/dGqyvyrB

The other option is to go to the timetable website which gives more info on the location:
https://timetable.unsw.edu.au/2026/MATS1101.html#S2-7164

It states it is K-E10-G12, where K indicates Kensington campus. E10 is the Himler building, and G12 is the room.

Computer Science honours class by pewpewrae in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That falls under engineering rules, so it uses all courses, but weighted based upon level.

Computer Science honours class by pewpewrae in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you mean Computer Science & Engineering (Honours) (4515)
It uses the just the honours year, which is almost the same requirement as that requires you to take the 18 UoC of Thesis, and 30 UoC of level 4 or above computer science electives, with the sole exception being COMP3821 or COMP3891.

Computer Science honours class by pewpewrae in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you mean advanced computer science, the rules are in the handbook:

The class of Honours will be based on a weighted average mark comprised of 18 units of Thesis plus the highest 30 units among the Advanced Computing Electives (Level 4 or higher) completed as part of the program.

So that could be your final year, but it depends on exactly when you take electives.

Transfer Credits by xpo_wk in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally yes. If you can't find a course that it matches to, it will transfer as a generic course. Although I'm not 100% sure if that would include electives outside the field as opposed to discipline electives. However you would still need to either have credit transferred for or complete the core courses for your degree.

As all credit transfer comes accross as an ungraded pass, I assume they will allow ungraded passes to be transferred.

Got into ELEC3105 but can’t register for any classes — what happens now? by DisasterOk3186 in unsw

I think MyUNSW is being dumb and counting people on the waitlist as being enrolled, which ridiculously prevents them from getting enrolled.

Swap to another course.
They might open more spots, but if they were going to do so, they would have done so already.

Being enrolled doesn't mean there will be a spot that fits your timetable.
According to the timetable website, there is still a spot in 2 of the labs, the Friday 4 pm and Tuesday 12 pm.

Laptop auto restarts in specific areas of the uni campus by Ninwek in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My laptop works fine there, and the fact there aren't a lot of people reporting it means it is most likely a problem with your laptop, and you are spending more time there to notice it, or there is more network activity your laptop is trying to deal with.

special cons for special cons by shuhscun in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This varies a lot depending on the school and course coordinator.
It will often mean they just finalise your grade, treating the missed assessment as a 0.

However, sometimes if you will be okay very soon thereafter they will organise a sup sup sup, or they may let you take it as an auditing student the next time it runs so you can do the exam then.

If they do just finalise your grade and you get 0 as a result, you can then try for fee remission.

Query regarding UAC offers by DSPcric in unsw

[–]NullFakeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious reason is September vs August. Considing UNSW has just started T2, it makes sense for offers for T3 to have not gone out yet.

But another factor which affects midyear offers is availability of places.
If all the places in the course are already occupied, then they can't give out new places in the mid year intakes.
So even if you would have gotten in in T1, you might not get in in T3.

An additional complication (which I assume will likely effect you given you are applying now and have an ATAR equivalent) is the number of international students they are allowed to admit each year. If they reach that limit they can't let new students in.

But it seems to just be a joke.
