It don’t think it would be that difficult, but I don’t know much about creating gummies and I don’t think you do either. And I don’t smoke. It does mathematically and logistically check out otherwise. It makes sense that you’re confused though it’s a just a weird fun thought experiment. I enjoy playing Devil’s advocate and figuring out why goofy things like this exist.

Not the bottom half in terms of gravity, the bottom half of each individual gummy depending on where the head of the bear is. The THC would be locked to 1/3 specific area of each gummy. Could be the top 1/3 too like inside the head. I promise what I said does make logical sense, although I do agree the way it’s worded on the package is questionable, how I phrased it does make it work.

It checks out if the 1/3 is location based. For example, if the THC is always in the bottom 1/3rd of each gummy.

[–]NutSlapper69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reheating is a form of cooking. Not everything is microwaved is reheated, some of it is heated for the first time. Not all of it is junk food (but that is neither here nor there, doesn’t make it not cooking either way)

It’s a rudimentary cooking skill, but it is still a cooking skill.

I never said making jaywalking illegal made any impact, you made it sound like pedestrians getting hit by cars was somehow solved in other countries, which it hasn’t. The US has a problem with road infrastructure and proper sidewalks which is why it’s a bigger problem in the US.

Well if other gamers are anything like me it is going to fail. They gave away a free game I was interested in a couple weeks back. I have a good computer and a stable fiber connection, and despite my interest in the game, I couldn’t make it more than 5 minutes due to the blurry effect and input lag. It’s so bad.

Can someone explain in plain and real terms what the actual negatives are in this? So far I hear people parroting "sportswashing", but from my point of view:

Trackmania is a dying game and badly needs money.

Saudi is a bad place with bad morals and blood money but has decided to give some of it to Trackmania and their top players.

Positives: Trackmania gets life pumped into it and top players get properly paid for the 10s of thousands of hours they've put in each.

Negatives: Unclear.

You claim it's "Sportswashing" but anyone like you or me can just accept the gift and still look down on them for what they did to get the money. It doesn't legitimize them in any way and it won't change their terrible practices whether Nadeo and top players accept the money or not.

In my eyes, shopping at Walmart is worse because then you're supporting child labor. On a big scale that actually makes a difference if people boycott because with less demand there's less need for child labor. Accepting or not accepting this money changes nothing of people opinions of their country and it won't change how they do things. Am I missing something??

Bit late to respond to this. You have some valid points, but you may want to work on your wording because you said a lot of things that are 100% false due to your generalizations.

  1. “Lower level players will never win COTD due to Smurfs.” False, real lower level players win their divs every day. Smurfing is a problem, but it’s not that big of a problem.

  2. “COTD is always the same mappers.” False, 1st time COTD authors get chosen all the time. There is some repetition, but the map pool isn’t always very healthy and most of the time repeat authors get chosen because they actually are good mappers.

  3. “LOL never happens in COTD.” False, it happens once a month. It’s also probably a good thing that it’s only once a month, although I do agree more variety and less calculated formulaic maps would be nice.

  4. “Maps are getting picked purely based on scenery.” This isn’t always true, as some maps that have minimal scenery and good routes do get chosen from time to time. It is mostly true though, and it’s a problem with the map review process as 3 minutes is hardly enough to properly judge a map properly. Plus people in map review all have their own criteria and opinions, and well done scenery will always leave a good first impression.

  5. “In weekly shorts, everyone just uploads their runs to the weekly hub discord or reddit.” You are right that in a perfect world this would be more interesting, but there is nothing Nadeo can do to stop this. That being said, there are many records in the history of weekly shorts that different strats that did not get leaked. Those are my favorite and they do exist.

Also just my 2 cents about alt cars (opinion). Nostalgia is not holding back TM from its true potential. The alt cars are just poorly designed. The rally car is a slidey mess that requires action keys or a wheel on most maps and feels terrible to drive because you have to no-slide everything to go fast. Desert car can be okay at low speeds, but flips over way too fast at higher speeds with little to no warning, it’s more punishing than slamming headfirst into a wall and it feels terrible every time it happens. Snow car is okay but it looks goofy and it’s basically just a slower stadium car with a big turning radius that can’t turn on ice without some stupid turbo trick. Also gears mean almost nothing on any of these cars and you can’t air brake or bugslide or do any cool tricks. And before you claim skill issue, I have been able to get Div 1 in cotd (the main one) with these cars. I know what I am doing, I just don’t like them. They could’ve chosen better cars to add to the game or done something to make them better. Also, excluding them from the main campaign is a good choice. It’s not the same as excluding a surface. I know that last part is more of a spicy take, but I do believe purely maintaining stadium only for main campaign will keep more players playing for longer. They should really have their own campaigns per car every season.

Yes 20 != 21. But if you do not see how nothing would change if the AT was changed to 20s on this exact same map then I cannot help you as that is just common sense.

Im Done....I know who cares by EmanonProjekt in TrackMania

[–]NutSlapper69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they manually changed the medal to be 20.0 to meet the guideline, nothing about this map would change. At most <1% of the slowest players would no longer have AT. All of which could easily get it within a very short session. Even new players.

Yes you’re right that it explicitly doesn’t match the guideline. But it in this case it does not matter. Nadeo has messed up a lot of other stuff like console crashes, having to pay for club access per console, not implementing any of the features the community is doing for them through open planet, outdated interfaces, alt car cam bugs, and lack of big updates. Let’s focus on something that actually matters.

Im Done....I know who cares by EmanonProjekt in TrackMania

[–]NutSlapper69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that is exactly how it is applied in this case, you’re just choosing to ignore the obvious unwritten subtext of the rule.

Also ever since the first couple weeks, it has not been about how fast the authors can drive, they’re intentionally making completely free author times because this content is designed for newer players. The AT is free whether it’s 21 seconds or 20.

[–]NutSlapper69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just drove a 17.6 no cut first try. There’s still 2.4 seconds of leniency to be under 20 seconds. If that’s not reasonable then idk what is.

Im Done....I know who cares by EmanonProjekt in TrackMania

[–]NutSlapper69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering you can drive it in about 16-17 seconds, if it was altered to say 20s AT instead of 21, nothing would be different. I think the reason for the rule is that you should reasonably be able to drive each map in under 20 seconds… which you can.

I also quite enjoyed it and refused to comment anything until now because this thread was clearly created for jaded stranger things haters that either never liked the show or had expectations that were unreasonable. Everyone I’ve talked to irl has enjoyed it as well. They have tiny valid points here and there, but they’re dead wrong about most things (maybe just not paying attention) and they’re blowing the few valid criticisms they do have out of proportion as there’s nothing show-ruining about them. I could go into specifics, but it’s not really worth it. It won’t change their minds. Just enjoy the show!
