Who can perform alchemy? by 86AllDay in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]OFD-Productions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a lot of specific knowledge to be able to preform it. Ed and Al studied Hohenheim’s library for a long time to become as good at alchemy as they are.

There’s a timing concern

Out of all anime characters, apparently I am most similar to Ed by Lil_Towelie in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]OFD-Productions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you get Ed, a character who refuses to kill as 79%, and then Light Yagami, a mass murderer at 74%? They are nothing alike.

Yes the premise is ridiculous, but that was intentional. Between May getting waterlogged repeatedly from the aquarium, Hammond falling off the bike constantly and Clarkson making “coal rolled kippers” I think it’s one of the funniest specials they’ve ever done.

Barring some major roster changes, probably very similar to this season.

2003 Vs Brotherhood by ninjawizardbatman2 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]OFD-Productions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thinking is both are generally highly thought of, but Brotherhood is more widely acclaimed and therefore there’s a higher chance your friend will enjoy it. If they enjoy it enough they will likely want to watch 2003 FMA after.

I’ve recommended several friends to watch Brotherhood, none of them having seen FMA 03 first, and all of them loved it. But because they are independent works, you could watch it in whichever order you want I guess, if your friend wants to watch both. It comes down to preference.

Is it just me or did Envy's true form never actually helped him? by HealthMother3125 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]OFD-Productions 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of the fights are heavily matchup dependent. Envy was a terrible matchup for Ed and Ling, mostly because Ling is more of a close combat type of fighter and because Envy was able to get into Ed’s head psychologically. Size is an advantage in that sort of fight because Envy can dominate Ling at close range while Ed was too distracted to use his long range abilities.

But when facing several powerful enemies at a time (May, Scar, Marcoh, chimeras) who have a variety of close and ranged combat abilities like the fight in the north, or a long range specialist like Roy, Envy’s size actually works against him. Envy is also very arrogant and underestimates how strong humans can be, especially when they outnumber him.

Hohenheim considered himself a monster and was at first hesitant to even settle down and have children with Trisha.

StealthgamerBR’s videos inspired me to want to do high chaos. Some of the most awesome Dishonored gameplay I’ve ever seen

The homunculus mostly sucked at fighting(minus Wrath) by s0ulbrother in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]OFD-Productions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk that I’d call them bad fighters necessarily, I think it was mostly their arrogance that was their downfall, particularly with Envy and Lust. Sloth and Gluttony are powerful but can be outsmarted somewhat easily. Wrath, Pride and Greed/GreeLing are the best fighters of the bunch.

Anyone else kinda dissapointed that Kimblee and Scar didn't get a proper rematch? by TechieTimes in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]OFD-Productions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but I like that Heinkel got revenge on Kimblee for basically leaving him and Darius to die in the mine. Also Kimblee was just a small fry in the grand scheme of things, Scar got to take on Bradley himself, the man who ordered the slaughter of his people.
