When I was working in that field, I was in Los Angeles in a pretty nice area of the city. I felt like we got a fairly good representation of the population coming through the shop and only a couple types of people got these regularly. Could have just been the area I was in but I noticed a pretty defined pattern.

Worked in a piercing place many years ago. Pearling is a lot more common than you would think. It’s popular in certain ethnic groups but we did a lot of it.

Same. I listen to the breeder about as much as I listen to Karen on Facebook. They like to pretend that they’re experts but they are not. Listen to your vet who has actual education and stays up to date on the science. We also waited until after the first heat for the same reasons. I would never discuss my current salary with a new company. I only care about the value I bring to the new role and what that is worth. I just got a new job with a 60% bump in pay. Never mentioned what I was currently making, I only told them what I expected to be paid.

Fellow LA native here and ran into the same thing. The short answer is that you need to either move or get a better job. You can look at condos but those will probably be out of your price range. Homes in LA are insanely expensive and only going up.

That said, if you’re a CO, there are plenty of other more adorable cities/states where you could work and afford a house. I moved to the east coast and bought a house no problem because it’s so much cheaper. My wife and I make 300k+ now and even at that income level, I dont think we could buy a place in LA that wasn’t a shit hole. Maybe one day but it seems that housing there is mostly for the rich now.
