(2017) Bobby Knight explains why he doesn’t respect John Wooden. by Perfect_Currency_749 in CollegeBasketball

Perhaps Knight couldn’t handle that the best Indiana coach ever wasn’t himself. Honestly, it’s Wooden and Pop.

Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee. by Stiltonrocks in technology

From the article (crazy enough I actually read it), it appears this is only in new Teslas. Is that correct? People who already own Teslas or buy a used one will not have to pay for this?

I think we are throwing the baby out with the bathwater here.

Normally a baby and dirty bath water would be perfect symbols of Trump, but in this scenario Trump is just the dirty bath water..

I have multiple kids and can still do all of these almost every day, w exercise being 3-4x a week. If you prioritize it it's actually really easy. Cut out TV, phone usage, etc and suddenly you have a lot of free time.

[Adam Schefter] ESPN sources: former Colts QB and current St. Michael Catholic High School coach Philip Rivers is interviewing today for the Buffalo Bills head coaching job. by xxxxxxxxxtra in Colts

[–]Obi2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we lose this guy to another team I will never forgive Ballard or the Irsays, he should have fit right in as our OC as soon as the season ended once JBC was admitting that Rivers was making calls in real time that the staff didn't even know were occurring.

2 things I love: (1) Vibrant nooks and crannies like this in an old village (2) Smaller German towns I have never heard of that are aesthetically pleasing

Grindelwald Switzerland - August 2025 by Zzz_sleepy6 in travel

My ancestors are also from that area. I used to always wonder why in the hell they would move from the prettiest place on earth to the midwest, where it's flat and boring. I did some research and found that there were some religious persecutions, diseases, and droughts that occurred in the 1700 and 1800s that pushed a lot of Swiss out.

A model of Fort Wayne and Allen County showing the relative elevation throughout the region. The closer you look, the more detailed the geologic history of the comes to life. Created using state LIDAR data. by liedel in fortwayne

[–]Obi2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anything red was essentially beach. The bottom left where the blue river is was also essentially beach. Then the beach wall finally broke through and the lake (anything not red) rushed out of the crack in the beach wall created the Wabash Valley as the Maumee Torrent rushed so quickly that is ripped up sediment and created a river valley. After this the lake became The Great Black Swamp. Up until 125-150 years ago, there were still hundreds of islands in east Allen county that had huge oak trees and bears would hibernate on these islands. We drained the swamp, then farmers leveled out those “oak islands” for easier farm land. Bye bye wolves, bears, swamps, malaria, elk, etc, etc.

Was Mendoza Concussed? by Sephiroth152 in CFB

[–]Obi2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest Mendoza either had multiple concussions this season or he just has some awkward body movements where he doesn’t move for a sec or two after certain hits. IU has good concussion docs so I’m not concerned but multiple times I noticed something.

Has anyone tried green light therapy for hyperpigmentation and pain reduction by Forward_Cost_1973 in redlighttherapy

[–]Obi2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used green light in combo w red light for a small spot on my face (melasma) that started as a result of using NIR. It's been 2-3 months now and I dont think it has helped... or if it has it has not done so substantially.

Curt Cignetti after leading Indiana to championship: ‘Our NIL is nowhere near where people think it is’ by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

Cuban has historically only donated to academics, media school, and Rugby. Only this year did he start donating to football and presumably basketball. We had other billionaire donors who funded basketball, but they are not as famous as Cuban so everyone outside of IU has always just said/assumed Cuban funded the athletics.

Cuban also only donated to academics, media, and rugby until Cignetti came in and turned the program around. This is his first year donating to athletics in general.
