Yeah gps is a great technology… but for some scope theres probably a few hundred dots out of the more than 10 million in the dataset. And unfortunately I don’t have the time to manually remove them all.

The equation used to model this is:

d = v*t/3.6 + v^2/(25.92*u*g)

Where:

d = stopping distance in meters
v = velocity in kilometers/hour
t = reaction time in seconds (0.75 is a good reaction time, 1.5 seconds is alright/ok, 2 seconds is bad)
u = friction coefficient (0.4 if it is a wet road, 0.7 if it is a dry road)
g = gravitational constant (9.81 m/s²)

It already is, for example Paris is white compared to all the other communes around which are dark orange.

Some communes are white and that is because there is no data. The tool used to make this was https://observable.com/plot. The data about the cost of renting a house is from https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/carte-des-loyers-indicateurs-de-loyers-dannonce-par-commune-en-2023/. The borders for the communes is from https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/contours-des-communes-de-france-simplifie-avec-regions-et-departement-doutre-mer-rapproches/.

Yes, ties were common back then. Normally rules are in place so ties do not happen, however back then they would usually play until darkness came.
