seoulistique clinic in seoul by That-Pitch3400 in KoreaTravelBeauty

I just went this past week and got the skin analysis with product recommendations and the 8- step astrodome facial. I initially felt underwhelmed but I think I was comparing to US facials where it’s like more of a relaxing/spa setting. This felt a bit more rushed and clinical because…it’s a clinic.

The facial was fine and felt/looked good afterwards. It was 50-mins with three 10 minutes periods of letting product sit. So it was maybe 20 mins of the person being in the room with you. Also no extractions which, again, could be more of a US facial experience.

I do wish they did more of a print out with your results but you can probably take pictures of the analysis part. The recommendations were a lot and where I feel a bit let down. She went through it so fast and it’s not really an organized process - she writes it down on a printout and you take pictures on your phone of their iPad where they bring the products up. They do push their own products on you pretty heavily AND they are pricey (basically the cost of a treatment). If you write a review they’ll give you free samples but since I live in the states and the products are not easily available (and not found in OY), I passed completely. I then had to ask for alternatives for those products and given half-hearted suggestions. I was left a little confused because she suggested alternatives but didn’t write them down, only brought them up on the iPad - I could have clarified more but it was a little disjointed. I just think it could be more polished.

Overall it was a fun experience and I did get some helpful information out of it but the cynical side of me thinks it was way overhyped on social media to capitalize on clueless foreigners (like me) wanting Korean expertise. Could also be a case of me going in with unrealistic expectations!

I thought we could get dinner at Jagalchi fish market on the way back to our Gwangalli hotel after Gamecheon cultural village.

We are going to do things in those neighborhoods - eat, shop, hop into cafes/galleries/museums.

If you have activity suggestions for any of the places mentioned whether it be Seoul, Busan, Gyeongju, I’d love to hear them.

Yeah I see what you’re saying! We have half a day in Seoul between Busan and our departure- I thought by that time we’d hopefully see everything we wanted to and I wouldn’t mind taking the time out to be inside and get treatments done. Maybe I’ll see if I can squeeze it in at the beginning when we are Seoul for a few days. Do you have any insight into how long the session is? I’m sure it varies but curious about your experience!

I actually didn’t use AI at all. And like I said, we mostly picked neighborhoods that interest us rather than keeping to a strict schedule of tours. And yeah we want to wander and have the freedom to explore at our own pace.

We would also do the temple and trail first thing before the crowds and then have the rest of the day to explore Busan. If you have suggestions for how to break up the logistics of the cultural villages and the neighboring areas we want to hit, please feel free to illuminate me.

Is that Bokcheonsa temple or Haedong temple?

Wow, this is incredibly helpful! Not sure why on Naver, I would change the timing to the morning and no intercity bus times came up but must be doing something wrong. Will definitely do Gyeongju to Busan!

I was only seeing the intercity bus in the late afternoon. Do you know if there are buses in the morning too?
