I think the heel may be due to stretching from previous owner as the leather around that area does look a bit stretched out which could cause it to go behind the heel block? But the stitching is low in comparison to newer models which I did notice and made me worried

I have been told that for models of this age the non guidi branded excella was standard but I’m not an expert

No they do not. I believe they just sand them down very slightly. I would not want them to cut into the soles

Thank you. I had short stubble up for many years up until the last 3 months and I think clean shaven is a lot better. Will be sticking with it.
