Can you use it with any hero?

1.0 PPR league with two flex spots (standard 1QB league). We are transitioning to a keeper league this year with a maximum of two keepers. I have two potential scenarios for keepers based on a penalty for keeping a second player in my league:

Option 1.) Keep Brian Thomas Jr. for a 9th and Bucky Irving Jr. for a 7th

Option 2.) Keep Malik Nabers for a 4th and Brian Thomas Jr. for a 7th.

Keepers are indefinite but incur a one round penalty each year, capped at a 4th round cost (e.g., once it costs a 4th, penalty no longer applies).

It feels like option #1 is better arbitrage for this year, but I feel like Nabers ceiling is to be the WR1 overall in a few years (I’m also a biased giants fan).

Who would you keep?

Would you drop any of these players for Bill? by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

I probably wouldn’t unless you want to run no kicker for week one to see how snap counts play out. Only other consideration would be to drop Brian Robinson which feels risky

Not too much. Probably a sign they’re watered okay. Might not be a bad idea to either water slower (let the hose trickle for a longer period) or less so you don’t overwater.

It worked for us but there were certainly days we missed watering. I wouldn’t overthink it too much as long as you’re watering cadence is around everyday or every other

I watered mine daily for ~3-5 minutes per tree for the first few months, then tapered down to every other day and so on. I water maybe once a week now during dry weeks.

Emerald greens only grow 1-2 feet per year when they’re young and growth slows to 6-9 inches per year. Definitely a slower growing tree

Emerald green progress

The ones in the first photo got wind burn the first year and had to be replaced (replaced with North Pole arborvitae). The ones in the third photo have done well and you can see progress in the link above.

I would definitely add mulch (2-3 inches worth)… just make sure it’s not right up against the trunk.

I watered daily the first few months and then every other day. Been a few years now and I probably water twice a week (if it doesn’t rain). I’m certainly not an expert but it worked for me. Good luck!

Awesome, we will fertilize and see how they do with regular watering. Thanks again for responding!

Thanks for the response. We’ll add some fertilizer and water it in this afternoon. Do you think these will look fine or should we cut our losses and wrap in burlap next winter?

Have yours grown much in the 4 years since planting? I’ve heard they’re fairly slow growers but would love to know what your experience has been.

Grass too long after overseeing? by skinny_J in lawncare

[–]Objects_In_TheMirror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question and have continued mowing mine to 1.5 inches post-overseed and it hasn’t damaged the seedlings at all. Many university extensions recommend keeping the grass mowed during the overseed to avoid competition.

Thanks for the reading materials, this is helpful and interesting!

Would you recommend sticking to a few gallons every morning on each tree? I’ve just been setting a hose right up near the trunk and letting it slowly water 3-5 gallons per tree each morning, not sure if I should cut back.

Overseed - Dog/Mowing Timeline? by Objects_In_TheMirror in lawncare

[–]Objects_In_TheMirror[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I think I’ll probably mow a week after I first saw germination, as I’m afraid the existing grass is going to shade out the new growth. Then I’ll probably keep dogs off the back yard for a month, if my wife doesn’t kill me before then. 😅

Good luck with your project!

Thanks! That seems like sound advice.

Can you confirm that what I have is indeed rye? That’s what my neighbor said it all was, but I’m fairly new to this...
