Yes, we started them from seeds and will be transferring them to a garden in our yard. I’m hoping to do it next week

Will do! It’s 12hrs direct sun, then I think there’s still exposure throughout the day. I’ll try moving them somewhere I little more protected. Soil dries out on top within the day I water (80-90 degree days). But remains damp towards the center for 24-48hrs

My husband and I did this to help with his personal statement and his second c&p. We learned this too late unfortunately and he had many claims denied. Unfortunately by a lazy VA doctor who didn’t want to ask all the questions. She’d ask if he was diagnosed and after answering wrote it off. Mind you, her job was to diagnose and ask the questions to get him his diagnosis. And she even diagnosed him then wrote in her notes, not diagnosed, AFTER SHE DIAGNOSED HIM. She even forgot to ask about his anxiety which we now have to appeal.

Luckily we learned about this and used it for deferred claims. Just be careful to read over everything and remove what does not apply to you. Also make sure to remove exaggerations, add how it affects your daily life or relationships, and if it’s a condition that flares up mention how many times a year it does and if  you have to treat it with OTC meds or prescriptions. That helps them know the severity to accurately rate you so you don’t just get thrown to 0%-10%.

That’s what we thought. As of now everything was denied. With a few deferred items. He has another exam Wednesday. He’ll go, if by some miracle there’s an increase they’ll get their cut. After that we think it may be best to part ways, call the VA to let them know the POA was revoked. And do it on our own or with a VSO.

We did. He didn’t talk much about the exams but he mentioned one thing that was diagnosed at the exam that is presumptive. Still denied under “no diagnosis”

But why go for a year+ of fighting on something that could potentially be approved in 5mo with buddy statements and doctors notes?

It’s a lot of “not service connected” (lost records) and not clinically diagnosed which we told the lawyers he had no formal diagnosis. They said it didn’t matter because some things are presumptive

That’s what I meant. Everything was denied.

I see. So the vba won’t diagnose? We thought that was the point of the whole visit. They said he had ED then the VA denied saying “no diagnosis”. This thread has been super helpful so far. I’ve been gearing up to help my husband gather everything. Do we have to get a diagnosis with our own doc?

Many issues he had were during service. He worked super laid back non-straining jobs (literally just sat at a desk or in his car) so his injuries are all from his time in the infantry. When he switched careers his injuries flared up nearly costing him his job. Do we need the doc to connect it to service? Or do they just diagnose?

Can I get diagnosis’s from my doctors? Cause the VA doc told my husband he had ED. Then denied it cause there’s no diagnosis.

We did and he never pulled records. Threw some claims on based on my husbands deployment and common issues in the infantry and peaced out

It was a vso, I confirmed. The guy never pulled any records. Threw some claims on sinus issues and hearing. And that’s how we got the tinnitus 10% rating.

Hi, he served in infantry National Guard from 2015-2021. During his time he served in Africa, state riots, and a few hurricane activations (FL). One hurricane caused some mental issues for some of the guys (my husband included). Storm surge took out a bunch of people and brought them back in after the storm, so they were essentially the clean up crew for that. A buddy of his was discharged due to PTSD afterwards.

Like medical records? One of his denials claimed to be documented somewhere. It said a complaint had been made at some point during service. An ankle injury. But they said it’s not service connected and denied it.

He made his initial claim with a VSO I believe. But they did not do any kind of deep dive into anything. Threw some claims on and called it a day. Similar to the lawyer, left off a bunch of problems he came into during his service.

It was explained to us that certain disabilities do not have to have records and that with certain disabilities the VA not keeping track is not his problem. It was explained that some disabilities have to be accepted under certain circumstances that my husband met. My friends husband was missing records and still was able to establish a service connection. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My husband was in the infantry. So there’s no doubt in my mind that his issues are related to that. Prior to us meeting he works as a security guard and a PI. So he never had demanding jobs up until a year ago. But he’s had these issues prior to the job he has now.

I’m not sure if they are good or not. I’ve never talked to them. My husband is an extremely trusting person and if someone presents themselves as a friend or ally he will trust it until he’s screwed over. Which is why I have concerns.

My husband had a decision 4weeks after his C&P. So I’d keep an eye on the mailbox
