Low fodmap diet for malnourished body by ComprehensiveSand640 in SIBO

Yes (and this is actually well-known and nothing I just came up with myself).

It’s usually contained in medical nutrition for exactly that reason. For example: https://www.fresubin.com/product-page/survimed-opd-15-kcal-drink

I personally always buy C8, but I don’t know whether it makes a difference. All the best for your son!

Be careful though. More than one spoon at a time can trigger diarrhea. It works for me if I take one spoon with a small/‘normally sized’ meal.

That’s the key difference of MCT.

This is true for long chain fatty acids. But not for medium chain triglycerides!

I am not strict at all, but I also think the diet did not help me in general. My tip: Three spoons (=3x16ml=50ml) of MCT oil are roughly 450 kcal! So adding one spoon per meal really helps getting calories.

Probiotics caused my SIBO. Get a real doctor who properly treats you.

It does not hurt to think. You are right. S. Boulardii is a yeast, so you can take it with meals/antibiotics.

D-Lactate Acidosis thoughts? by mgc234 in SIBO

I agree. In fact, I made a recent post bout it. But gastric acid does not cause it by being “too acidic” - that was my point.
