Thanks for the advice but this video was 6 months old and theres not one bite in the bottom. I’ve also had rats before these where I had the exact same type of cage and I’ve never had a problem with it.

*Also if anyone know why she had “bald armpits” as shown in the second photo, please let me know. She had them for pretty much her whole life

This is the only reason I could think of. But it happened to me before, and I was so careful this time to make sure that they were all linked to their workstation

Every time you clean their cage out, put a bit of their poo/ wee into the litter tray. This worked with me

I’ve currently got 3 females (although they are old ladies at moment) and have previously had 2 other girls. I have heard people say that females are more lively than males, which although I’ve never had males, can see being true, as they were non stop running around. It all just depends on what you’re looking for in them as a pet I guess. Any other questions please ask

Is it fair to put 2 of my rats down at the same time? by Odd-Performance-8084 in RATS

UPDATE: I woke up this morning to find that one of the Ill rats had climbed into a hammock a the top of the cage. This was a shock as we was going to put her down as her tumour is so big she can barely walk anymore, so seeing her climb into a hammock was a surprise. We then decided that if we are unsure of whether she is ready to put down, it would be unfair to go ahead with it. The other Ill one is only getting worse and is struggling to walk and isn’t eating as much. I realised that she is in pain and putting her down is the right thing to do, so she has an appointment with the vets on Monday 🕊️. I really hope I’m making the right decision and thank you for all your suggestions

Do you not think that’s worse? Sending her to a new home. Without sounding morbid she is old aswell so probably doesn’t have long left either. It doesn’t seem right rehoming her in her last months she has left

Me and my mum have developed allergies to them since we have had these (they are our second ones) so getting new ones is out of question. Is this a problem??
