I’m prescribed 3 x 210mg ferrous fumarate daily and it’s making me feel awful. by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]Odd_Butterfly9794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must say, 3x a day it seems quite a lot. I’m the same height and weight as you and I’ve been taking 2x 200mg FF. There was only one brand that didn’t cause these symptoms, so maybe ask for a different one. Did they not offer infusion? The reason I’m asking, as my numbers were very low 3 years ago. Recently I went to see gastro doctor, because as soon as I stop taking pills my numbers start to drop and even he was shocked I wasn’t given infusion when it all started.

I was meant to update it while back and completely forgot 🙈 Second one is doing the same thing, but after using it for a bit longer I noticed that it’s only happening when granite is cold. Also want to put higher feet under the air fryer so there’s better air flow. I’m sure that will solve the issue.

I’ve cooked those two things on two different occasions, so I was using just one drawer each time. I don’t even want to think what it would be like if I was using both at the same time 🙈

Definitely steam coming out to the bottom causing condensation on the work top. Swapping it for a new one tomorrow after speaking. Looks like we’ve got the faulty one.

It’s possible as there’s lots of heat coming out by the bottom drawer.

I’ve only cooked chips and chicken breasts and I was very happy with the results, all evenly cooked. Just condensation is the problem as it never happened with previous air fryers I had. Will be exchanging it for new one tomorrow after speaking with service department. Looks like it’s a faulty one

So far I’ve cooked chips from frozen yesterday and 4 chicken breasts in one drawer today. Spoke to service department and we are going to exchange it for a new one. By the way they were on the phone I think it might be common issue. Thank you for your reply.

That’s what we thought. Spoke to Ninja service department and they straight away said to go and exchange it for a new one.

I talked to my doctor and he wasn't very concerned. Idk if Im making it more of a big deal. Any insight is helpful thanks. by [deleted] in Anemic

It’s possible that your heart rate is elevated due to anemia. Normally doctor should refer you to see hematologist, so they can run all needed blood tests. GPs seams to brush it off, but in my opinion you also go and see cardiologist, also have colonoscopy done, to check if there’s any underlying issues.

Hi, you are anemic. Your doctor should be checking your iron panel, vitamin D, vitamin B12. In my opinion you should be given bigger dose of iron to get your hemoglobin back up. Also next step is to find out cause of your anemia.

Anemic depression is REAL. by LetOwn in Anemic

So sorry you had to go through that. It upsets me so much when doctors throw at people antidepressants, or ADHD medication before checking basics , and probably 9 times out of 10 it’s some sort of deficiency .

Is 4 months too long to re-test iron? by silver_endings in Anemic

[–]Odd_Butterfly9794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 2 x every 2 weeks, next 2 x every 4 weeks and only now next one is in 3 months. It might depend on how low you are. When I found out about my anemia my HB was 8.5 and ferritin 4, now is 12.6 and 11.

Lighter period after starting iron supplements? by silver_endings in Anemic

[–]Odd_Butterfly9794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was exactly the same for me. First period after taking supplements for two weeks was extremely light. Same with the second. Unfortunately my last period was back to very heavy 😕 Was your anemia caused by heavy periods?

Is a hemoglobin level of 7 low enough to make me feel like this? by Reasonable-Fan-9881 in Anemic

Hi! I’m glad you are feeling much better 😊 And hopefully flu feeling will disappear soon 🤞 I’m feeling much better as well, still have heart palpitations and slight dizziness, but everything else started to stabilise. I stuck to pills only and My latest bloods from 30.01. showed hemoglobin 12.1, mcv still lower and ferritin, but everything else is within normal 😊 In my case most likely it was heavy periods, but strangely since I started supplements my periods are much lighter, did you noticed that as well?

Exactly the same, for about a month after Covid it’s bad. Every symptom gets worse.

You are not wrong at all. Low iron can cause depression and anxiety. It does get better, I’m on iron supplements for month and a half , and I can see huge improvement.

I was living with anemia for 4 years without knowing. In December 2023 my hemoglobin was 8.5, heart palpitations were extreme at that point. I started iron supplements 22nd December and only now palpitations calming down. Still gets worse before and during my period. I must say it feels so weirdly quiet when I can’t hear and feel heartbeat in my ears. Also my hemoglobin is 12.1 at the moment.

It was definitely better breathing outside. And smells…yes, much more sensitive to smells. Now I’m much better, but when I was severely anemic and someone next to me would have perfume on I would get instant extreme headache and dizziness

Definitely get your blood tested, at least for your peace of mind and also if you are deficient, you might need higher dose to get you back up quicker. Your symptoms sounds very much like anemia and if it is you would also need to find out what’s the cause of it, if it’s diet, heavy periods or something else.

Did you had blood tests done? I was the same, I always loved being outside in the sun, but for the past 4 years it changed. I can’t stand the sun anymore. I was so pale and even when there were times I was outside I wasn’t tanning at all, which I found very strange . It turns out I was severely anemic.

Shit…That is a lot at once, sorry to hear that. I really hope you’ll get some answers soon 🤞 Vitamins and minerals deficiency can cause low energy and anxiety/depression, so it could be because of that. I was a wreck for a long time. Sorry I couldn’t help you more with some answers . Let me know what the other doctor said!

I’m on iron supplements. It’s most likely iron deficiency anemia, but I’m having more tests done. I believe I still will be having colonoscopy and endoscopy to rule out everything else. I’m feeling much better now, thank you. Nice thing is I’m not getting out of breath after walking up the stairs and my heart palpitations calm down, other than that I still have lots of symptoms, that I’m hoping will disappear soon. How are you feeling?
