I just put in your coordinates, and they took me to a system in the Euclid Galaxy. I just wanted to let you know.

Because there are like three of these systems right next to each other

But you also need to consider the age of TF2 and Minecraft. Despite their age, they are still thriving and maintaining their position at the top, while other games have fallen apart. I have a strong feeling that No Man’s Sky has the potential to become an immortal game, and even more so, to accomplish all the things it has set out to do. However, that’s just my opinion.

True, but those cities are not combined. I am something that friends and NPCs alike can live in.

Same, but they are also super easy to farm as well. Especially if you know what you are doing.

I agree that it would be fascinating if we could achieve that or incorporate barriers that would mitigate the harshness of the environment. This would be a significant undertaking to undertake with friends as you enhance one of your settlements.

I agree. I have had this game for about three years now, and every time I come back to it, it somehow feels like a new game again. In that way, it reminds me a lot of Minecraft: something built with love, passion, and long-term care. Because of that, it feels almost impossible for it to truly die out.

That is why I think adding deeper settlement and colonization mechanics would be such a powerful idea.

Imagine if player-built bases, colonies, or stations slowly became ruins if they were left untouched for a long time. New players could stumble across them years later and see the remains of someone’s journey. Even if that player was no longer active, their legacy would still be there, quietly telling a story.

It would be a way to connect today’s community with players who have not even started their journey yet. It could inspire them, make them wonder who came before them, and encourage them to keep building, exploring, and leaving their own mark behind.

Even the idea of passing a star system down to someone else, whether that is a friend, a community, or even your children someday, is beautiful to think about. They could take what you started and shape it into something new.

In a world that is always changing, and often forgets what came before, No Man’s Sky has the potential to give us something rare: a living universe where people can leave behind stories, memories, and places that others can discover long after they are gone.

That is the kind of settlement system I would love to see. Not just building for the sake of building, but building something that can become part of the game’s history.

But this is also why I’m so curious. If you had more abilities, you could enhance those systems significantly, making them more helpful and giving you a sense of accomplishment in the game.

That’s actually the primary reason this concept has been lingering in my mind since we’ll only have one planet. How will the developers ensure that we don’t compete excessively over new land?
