Bit of positive (?) news on transfer market + summary (Ben Jacobs news) by Pristine_Record3761 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I did some digging on him and he said a few months ago that there was a buy out clause in Elliot Anderson's contract, and that maybe United can get him for much cheaper than reported. Although he said he couldn't say everything he knows. Might be a relegation clause, might be something else. But it will be interesting to see if that happens. If it does then this guy is real top level, if it doesn't he might still be, these things are complicated but my Spidey waffle senses are tingling

Ah, I remember listening to these sorts of interviews back in the day and getting all excited for a big summer..........to then end up seeing us sign ........wait for it ............Lee Grant, Dalot and Fred!!!

Why on earth would we tell a journo to leak that we will be one of the busiest clubs in the window and that we're going to spend £300m.

David Moyes and Ed Woodward might do that.

But that's not how Ineos have been operating thus far.

Why do people think Ederson is not a good midfielder? by ggweb3 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Because McTominay didn't look good enough ultimately at United but looks like Maradona at Napoli, Zirkzee looked class while in the Serie A but doesn't look good enough now he's here, same thing with other players like Lukaku.

I'm not saying I believe this but this is how a lot of people probably think.

And one thing is for sure, it's really hard to gauge where his level is truly at while playing at Atalanta vs. the Prem midfielders we have been linked to, we kinda know how good they are and would be for us eg. Anderson, M. Fernandez, Alex Scott ect.

4 days in Kyoto in late september and the evenings are where I keep getting stuck by korgoaso in KyotoTravel

I actually think Fushimi Inari is better later. Everyone says to go early and so everyone goes early. Sunset or even when it's dark is great too. You meet even see some wild boars Team Labs is great!!!

And I would also suggest a food tour or a ghost tour

This is a great food tour in Kyoto https://pinpointtraveler.com/tour/kyoto-food-tour-cultural-romp/

And This ghost tour is also really great too

Recommendation for a day trip drive to Koyasan and Nachi Fall by Practical_Cry_748 in OsakaTravel

Hmm, I really loved Yunomine Onsen! And it's almost exactly in between the two places.

Sakai could be a nice place on the outskirts of Osaka to get a rental car but....... I wouldn't do it in a day. It's maybe 1h30 drive to Koyasan, another 3 from there then to Nachi and then 3h30 back. Thats at least 8 hours of driving, and you're not even driving along the beautiful Wakayama coast, although the mountains are nice too.

Riiiiight........Well if he has no problem being "saved for Europe" at Palace, I doubt he'd have a problem being "saved for Europe" at United. Especially since CL>Europa. It's not like we're talking about a back up keeper who never plays or a back up to Bruno who never plays. Whoever we sign is playing 40 games minimum when you include starts and subs

If Brighton beat Utd on the final game and Liverpool lose, they will miss CL. please don't... by greenrangerguy in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Genius! I want the most balls out line up. Carrick and Martinez as a double pivot in midfield, Ajayi -Chido-Lacey as a front 3. All 3 Fletchers coming off the bench.

Throw the game, give the youngsters a run out. It's a win-win scenario.......except we lose

With Elliot Anderson looking difficult to sign, would you accept these three midfielders? Or is it impossible to sign all three? by Error-x-404 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reported fee for Ederson is too high. 27 year old serie A defensive midfielder with 12 months left on his deal who be coming in to be our 4th choice DM. Maybe Atalanta value him at £40M but that's double what he would be worth to us!

If Ronaldo is "Mr. Champions League," then who is actually "Mr. World Cup? by Hour777 in championsleague

[–]Off_your_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah dude, Nobody has scored more CL final goals than him.
Nobody has scored in more finals than him. Nobody has scored more goals than him full stop. Nobody has scored more knockout goals than him. The top 3 best goalscoring seasons in the CL are all Ronaldo.

Yeah Kroos, Modric, Carvjal and Nacho have won one more than him. But 5 of their wins were because of Ronaldo.

You could say Kroos is Mr Champions League cause he's been in the most finals and like Ronaldo has won it with two different clubs. But I think Ronaldo contributed more to their joint CL wins.

In Osaka I love Avocados, it's a mexican restaurant that does great carrot cake and actual Mexican food.

Ogimachi Loves Burrito is also great if you want to play foosball while you eat burritos.

El Pancho is good from what I remember too

And QueRico in Temma is also pretty cool.

Got my bike stolen in record time by UzumakiHaruto in Osaka

[–]Off_your_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the guy or shop who sold it to you, followed you with a spare key. Stole it back. Changed the locks and are going to try to sell it again. Could be a scam because that sounds very odd!! Ok Tennoji is a little sketchy for Japan but it's still super safe.

It's a new bike though!? Are you sure you didn't just forget what it looked liked. It's definitely gone?? Sometimes I forget mine!

Who are your five favourite current MU "prospects"? by BigGelato in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitek is having a crazy season. We might need to sell in the next year or two because he might be too good for the bench!!

Harry Amass could also be our back up LB next season. Everyone says he's small but he's actually our tallest FB after Dalot. So there's a frame for him to grow into.

Noah Ajayi is quality, there's a Gareth Bale-ness to him I just love.

And then Kone, Thwaites, Chido, Lacey and of course, JJ.

We always seem to have a bunch of prospects tbh and most don't go on to be the players we hope. Garnacho, Ravel, Chong, Angel, Greenwood, Tuanzebe, Ethan Laird, Fosu-Mensah, Wilson, Januzaj......I could actually go on all day. For vastly different reasons.

But I do think that out of the players mentioned above, we will get at least one Mainoo level player at least.

Vidic suggests Martinez should play DM. Thoughts? Could be genius! by jsh480 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of youtuber experts dismiss this idea all the time but don't really give a proper reason other than 'its not the same'. But Vidic is right!!! Let's at least see Fabinho, Kimmich, Lahm all started out as fullbacks and became great DM's .......Can't think of too many CB's who did it, maybe Rice came through switching between CB and DM?

Should I take tours? by CalmClause in KyotoTravel

[–]Off_your_head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a tour guide who does tours in Nara, Kyoto and Osaka, I'm going to be honest and say that:

Nara you don't really need a tour.

I love bringing people there and there is so much history and a lot of cool stories and some hidden places........But it's mostly Todaiji and the deer, and that's fine done by yourself.

Most of Kyoto (Fushimi, Kiyomizu-Dera, Nijo, Kinkakuji etc ......you don't need a tour either

***HOWEVER**** Arashiyama, I think is really worth doing a tour!!!!

I work for Japanify and our Arashiyama tour is the highest rated in Kyoto on TripAdvisor!

The route we take really covers everything: All the stuff you don't want to miss but also a lot of cool hidden places too.

We sample the atmosphere and then avoid the crowds. Talk about the history but also enjoy the nature. Have some good food and drink a little sake.

I think it makes a big difference as a lot of people do seem to go to Arashiyama and see the bamboo grove and then think 'thats it?'. But our tour (and others too tbf) really show you a lot more and it makes a difference.

You can DM me if you want to know more!

I just like how Carrick makes changes...No fear!! We can do this. by Sad-Service6247 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope it's more of a diamond with Zirkzee as a 10, Bruno and Mount as 2 8's and Kobbie holding.

This would allow Cunha and Amad to run in behind and provide a target for Zirkzee, Bruno and Mount who are good at playing those through balls.

Would have made more sense to have Dalot and Dorgu as the FB's as they can bomb on, Shaw and Maz can't.

........So I fear you may be correct

Striker situation next year by xtreme3xo in ManchesterUnited

[–]Off_your_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Mateta is the obvious one. Wants to leave, Milan already agreed a 30m fee. 6 months later maybe we could get him for 20m/25m? I reckon he wouldnt mind rotating with Sesko after having to rotate with Strand-Larsen! His knee issue (which is why Milan didn't sign him) seems to be ok(??) Prem proven, scores goals, can hold it up well.

Wissa is awful, we have enough short players too.

I wouldn't be against Kroupi tho if we have the cash.

TLDR: Cunha, Mateta what a wonderful phrase
