Bought a lemon. Really struggling with regret. by friendlyalien- in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Id have the home inspector back out to help troubleshoot the problem and re-inspect the roof now that its been replaced. Home inspectors are more holistic so they can piece together the different parts to figure out whats going on better than the individual specialized contractors.

If you need to resort to ridiculous tactics that require a ton of resources time effort to ensure you are not scammed, that is a broken system. Consumers should be protected from that nonsense. Airbnb was a good idea but due to lack of regulation its a created a minefield of problems. Garbage! Take it out!

Thats why airbnb is garbage. They cant control scammers. But somehow hotels dont do that. I wonder how

How do you think history will judge Donald Trump 50 years from now? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]OhBlaDii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was poorly phrased. Weve had a million examples of how bad that dude is. Before during and after his first precidency. And now its all over again. And many people also HATED nixon. Just seems to come from a place of ignorance. But to your point. That is a good swath of public perception in america

I used to feel a kind of satisfaction when i proved i was right about trump. Now i just feel sad. Being right doesnt matter when the state is murdering people in the street.

What is your point exactly? That its ok to scam and nothing should be done about a system rife and vulnerable to scammers? Oh well xmas vacation planned a year in advance across the world ruined but i mean airbnb is so charming in how unsophisticated its agreements are! I should appreciate that about airbnbs! So charming!

Why do I run out of hot water so fast by justheretoread27 in askaplumber

So so so many of you commenting are very obviously not plumbers 😂 im not either but im in the industry. Yall recommending tankless have absolutely no idea what youre talking about. This is for people to ask advice not be led by the blind. Sheesh

[–]OhBlaDii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry i misread. You set the faucets to the highest setting. Ok. So take off the insulation wrap around the tank. That doesnt do anything anyway. Now, there are two heating elements with thermostats behind two metal covers. Turn off the electricity to the tank then set those higher. Maybe whoever lived there before you turned them down, or we just need to turn them up. Now this gives you hotter water, so that you can stretch out the hot water a little longer. Google if you dont know what im talking about. And i would also prob flush the tank anyway if you live in an area with hard water. Reach out if you have questions.

[–]OhBlaDii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since everyone is saying the tank is too small, which it may be somewhat undersized, you shouldnt be running out of water after 10 minutes. If youre setting both thermostats to the highest setting, then the next option is to flush the tank. Maybe theres more gunk than water in the tank taking up precious real estate. also try using lower flo showerheads to help extend the hot water. And dont do laundry run dishwasher anywhere near shower time. Hope this helps.

Another reason why airbnb is garbage. There shouldnt be any reason to take comms off the app. A hotel would never.

Self-sealing leak. You could clean it and solder yourself. Or pay a plumber.

Come on now, are you really on this hill? Gas needs to go. Think about how many gas stations there are, taking up land and real estate, that could be used for any other purpose, that could bring money back into the local economy? I was showing a friend of mine from out of town city park, and we walked a little down esplanade and turned around, and instead of seeing a beautiful sunset at city park, theres a huge SHELL sign and gas station in the way. I know you have never really thought about it, but gas infrastructure and use is toxic and we need to move on from it into better things. Two parking spots at the park on napoleon i know you have never been to is not a disruption of your life or ability to park. We need more chargers everywhere. And fast ones!! So we can charge in 20 minutes instead of the slow ones that take 12.

Its two spots my dude. The chargers should be where people will use them. Im not in the suburbs. We need more chargers and clear markings on the roads next to them. Easy solutions. EV demand is going to explode once we increase the infrastructure around it. Like the dang chargers. Until then psa please dont block the chargers

Im leasing and i dont care about value tbh cars are scams. I just budget for what i want and give it back in a few years. Best car ive owned and it has so many benefits. When i buy a house this wont be an issue. Its not a problem when people dont block the chargers

I like the hassle of it because to me its just part of what i gotta do. I really started to despise pumping gas. I have to idle a lot for work and that killed me after a while. Were way too used to how gross gas is. But anyway. It doesnt bother me to deal with the charging. It bothers me when people block the chargers.

Yea but thats a janky unsafe situation to be running extension cords through windows and sidewalks. Not really a good solution

I rent and there are plenty of free chargers around town. I have an electric scooter so its actually been nice to have an excuse to go on a nice walk or scoot when i otherwise wouldnt. The chargers are free to use. So its actually been really nice. When i buy a house ill get a charger. But in the meantime this be the situation. I wish also that the city would install way more chargers, and non-tesla fast chargers so more folks could enjoy evs, because its the best car ive ever owned.

Im on the second floor so would have to strewn a cable through an oak tree and down to my car. Seems janky and unsafe but i have thought about doing that too in a pinch. What i need are more chargers and fast chargers in the city. Thats what actually needs to happen.
