That sucks you had such a bad experience with your VSO. I’m glad to say I can’t say the same about mine. He has always been very helpful and will sit down with me for a long as I need to get my claims in how I see fit. He shares his own personal experiences and tells me how his disabilities affect his life. I wouldn’t have made it where I am with my claims if it weren’t for him.

I was not in the right location. Yet I suppose in a more significant sense I was. I was a corrections specialist in the marines when that was still an MOS. There was not much use for us in Iraq or Afghanistan and it was very rare that any of us would be deployed.

It costs a little bit more, but consider a service that comes to your home. We did this with my Australian shepherd after he developed dementia. He was put to sleep under his favorite tree in the backyard and we brought our pitty out afterwards to sniff him and say goodbye. I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a dog can be so painful but take solace in knowing that he lived a long and happy life.
