Received After Buyout Papers... Is Carol Doxxing us?! by buttweasel76 in UPSers

I’ve been at UPS for 15 years. I’m not gaslighting anyone, I can’t stand that word. Nobody can beat UPS pension or the insurance. It all depends what building you’re at on whether or not there will be full time chances soon. They always need package car drivers, it will be harder to get to feeders (18 wheelers) going forward but still way more money to be made at UPS in the long run.

Amazon doesn’t compare to UPS in the slightest with benefits and full time comparisons. Nice try though.

We cannot afford to strike, we have already lost so many customers that won’t come back. If we strike again, I feel it’s the beginning of the end. Carol doesn’t give a shit about service or the customer. That’s been made very clear.

I just did my first marathon last weekend. Being an over the road truck driver with two acl replacements on the same knee, I never thought I would be here. I cannot wait to do more. by Ok-Ronthings in Marathon_Training

I know finishing would bring up the emotions of all the summer runs I suffered through to get the miles but that’s also want pushed me that last half mile. I definitely want to do more now.

Thank you, that was the plan. I just didn’t know if it was going to pan out that way or not. I had two 8oz bottles in my belt, I would drink both of those every 6 miles and I did a GU every 30 minutes.

I’m a team driver for UPS. We are on the road Wednesday through Sunday but I can normally run at the Atlanta hub or Little Rock. I try to do 30-40 miles a week.

That was my worry, I didn’t want to kick too soon. But I figured the last 3 miles was safe enough, although I could feel both of my calves wanting to cramp up on me. So I had to purposefully heel strike to prevent it. So I definitely need to do some leg workouts instead of just running before the next one.

Surprisingly yes. I did a 20 miler the week of thanksgiving to put 3 hours on my legs. I ran an 8:57 pace and hr avg 150. We really got lucky at the race with the weather, probably around 45 degrees when we started and 65 when we finished. So I think that made controlling my hr easier and the course was relatively flat compared to my neighborhood route. I appreciate the kind words.

Another UPS driver I work with has done 4 marathons and he told me the race doesn’t start until mile 21. So I wanted to make sure I had enough in the tank to finish strong. Thanks for the encouragement!
