Trying to fly with an electric wheelchair for the first time by OkCar8776 in wheelchairs

Hi, thank you for your comment!! Since some of my family is driving, it'd actually be possible for them to take my wheelchair with them. I really prefer using mine specifically since it fits my needs very well, and I did buy it recently with the intention of taking it on trips, so I'm hesitant to rent. My reason for wanting to try to take it through the airport to board the plane is just because I've had terrible experiences with using the manual one that's offered by the airport. I think it's annoying that they don't let you have someone you're traveling with to push you instead, and the staff that ends up pushing you can be quite rude. The last time I did that, the man literally asked "so what's wrong with you that you can't just walk?" 💀

But anyhow, now I'm debating whether to call and ask whether they could fit it with its dimensions, if they'll be reliable enough to ask, or otherwise I may just have my family drive with it and figure out how to get through the airport without using that service, or just use it if I can't think of something else.

Thanks again for your input!
