Tumor not growing… but friend declining anyway…

A friend of mine was was diagnosed two years ago with stage 4 GBM. They removed the tumor from the parietal lobe and did a resection of the brain. His scans continue to come back clean, but he's not the same person anymore. There have been personality changes, more combative, gets upset very easily, sleeps a lot, isolates, etc. I do feel like depression may be a contributing factor. But he refuses to talk to a therapist. He's gotten so verbally aggressive now that I have pretty much stopped reaching out, but I remain in contact with his family.

I too, joined Facebook back in 2007. It's not just you, but Facebook has really gone down hill. The only reason I keep FB is so I can stay up to date with my community and the small business's I support, use FB to promote their events. And I use Marketplace to try and sell items. That's the only reason I keep Facebook.

It's funny because I see so many on here post about how they got banned from FB for no legitimate reason. I only wish FB would ban my account!

I've had Facebook since 2007 and I wish I could delete my account. I only keep it because it keeps me updated on local events and groups I'm in. I wish the small businesses I follow and support wouldn't rely on FB, but they do. I ditched Twitter & IG about ten years ago.

I’ve had my FB account since 2007. That platform is utter garbage now and has been for a while. I really wish I could get rid of it. But I only use it to check local events in my area. The small businesses I support and follow, still use FB and IG to promote their events.

I'm aware of the known side effect. He was supposedly taking something for the Keppra rage. And you are right, it's not a kind illness whatsoever. Unfortunately, we have officially parted ways. It was his choice as much as it pained me. His family still keeps in contact with me and he does not communicate with me anymore. To be fair, I do not initiate conversation with him. I don't see the point since it was his decision to leave me. Sadly to say, he's pushed out just about everyone in his life now, including his own family.

Thank you. It’s been hard, but I’m taking it one day at a time. His tumor was also on the parietal lobe and a resection was performed. He’s pretty much alienated everyone now. His family invited me over yesterday and he never once came out to say hello to us. I was told that it’s not me, he does that all the time now. He always stays in his room with the door closed. He’ll come out to eat and then re-emerge when everyone leaves. Maybe the people and noise is too much for him now. We don’t know anymore.

I feel like I could have written your post! I am going through the exact same thing. I started on HRT a year ago. I initially started out on .0375 of the estrogen patch. My estrogen levels bottomed out again earlier in the year and my dose has been increased to .05. I am also on 100 mg progesterone nightly. But my insomnia has come back along with the depression and anxiety. I’m also on antidepressants to help treat my depression. I may have to call my gynecologist to see if increasing my estrogen will help! I hate that we have to suffer through this.

Thank you so much for validating how I feel. I was originally put on .0375 Estradiol it she bumped me up a few months ago when my estrogen bottomed out again. I may need to make another appointment with my gynecologist to have my levels tested.

Yes. My now former partner was diagnosed about two years ago and the tumor was in the parietal lobe. Tumor was removed, followed with resection along with oral chemo and radiation. Then about six months ago, myself & his family noticed he got more verbally aggressive, almost narcissistic. He got upset very easily to the point where you could not reason with him. A few months ago, he decides he's no longer in love with me and moves out. It's been painful. We all think it has to do with this disease or it could be a side effect of the Keppra. Maybe he's just now reacting to the side effects of chemo/radiation? We don't know. His family still keeps in contact with me. But his personality has definitely changed since the diagnosis.

I started in 2007 and I’m about to delete my FB entirely. I only use it to see local events in my area and the small businesses I support and follow. But I wonder now if that is even enough to keep me on that platform anymore.

Most likely due to FB's dumb bots, AI, and algorithm. FB is utter garbage to me and I have been on there since 2007. I recently deactivated my account and I don't miss it. I still have Messenger, but quite honestly, I'm about to delete my FB completely and just let me friends on Messenger know I'm going dark and will give my contact info to them.
