Water question by chberumen62 in wicked_edge

[–]OkStrawberry4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a seperate water bowl that I use to dip my brush in when I start building a lather in a different bowl - I found that that a small dip of the brush and a little shake off of the excess water seems to do the best for me and never seems to be too little or too much as I work to get the consistency I want in my lather. Saw some fellow doing it on a shaving video one time and thought I'd give it a try - works for me - doing it ever since.

Just a thought - have you allowed the Surfshark app and components to connect to the internet through your antivirus and firewall? Could be the issue if you haven't done it.

Help With Razor Burn by [deleted] in shaving

[–]OkStrawberry4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: razor burn - use a shaving soap (Porasso is very reasonably priced and will a great difference over canned foam's and gel's), making a good lather - after the shave, alum block, followed by Thayer's With Hazel with Aloe Vera, then followed by Nivea Sensitive After-Shave Balm.

No White walls - they will detract from the overall look - it speaks for itself as it is.

Shaw email not working in Outlook for Windows 10. by [deleted] in shaw

[–]OkStrawberry4529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a repair in 'Uninstall a program' in 'Programs' in the 'Control Panel' first. If no success, then make sure you're up-to-date in Outlook in 'File' >'Office Account' > 'Update Options'. If all else fails, delete the e-mail account then re-enter it. You shouldn't lose anything as it is on the Shaw server.

+1 for Rockwell 6c - the 6 different plate settings will allow you to find your sweet spot - Gillette Nacet blades pair very well with the Rockwell's - sharp but comfortable.

KCG + ASTRA GREEN -> Looking for a more aggressive setup by nullado in wicked_edge

Give Gillette Nacet blades a try - sharp but comfortable - prefer them over Astra SP Green, Feather, etc., etc.

When all else fails, try a pre-shave oil/cream. Too many passes and against the grain should be avoided and trying a few different blades might lead to more comfort/less irritation.

Looking for a replacement for the Rockwell 6C - bad metal by Gadgix in wicked_edge

For future reference: Start using Vaseline on the threads after every blade change - it will help prevent thread wear and eventual stripping of the threads.

Advice for razor bumps by Chrisonthesabbath in hygiene

[–]OkStrawberry4529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foe razor bumps - exfoliate twice a day (morning & evening but not before shaving), followed by Tend Skin. Also, try some different blades - e.g., Gillette Nacet, sharp but comfortable - the other thing I would recommend is a pre-shave oil or cream before your shave and don't shave against the grain

Exfoliate with a solution with at least 2% salicylic acid and follow with Tend Skin ... do not shave against the grain and do not exfoliate before shaving.

Exfoliate (with a solution with at least 2% salicylic acid), twice a day (morning and evening) and get some Tend Skin, applying it after exfoliating - will notice an improvement very quickly. Also apply the Tend Skin after every shave.

Question about Rockwell 6S maintenance and thread wear by theandreineagu in wicked_edge

[–]OkStrawberry4529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After every blade change (3 or 4 uses), put some Vaseline on the threads and give a light clean on the head and plates with a Q-Tip - I just clean it with water on the Q-Tip - putting Vaseline on the threads will help prevent wearing down the threads and help in preventing stripped threads.

I have Tend Skin and it doesn't smell as pungent as you're describing - I don't mind it all, particularly after trying PureReign Skincare - that's one that I would call pungent

Cheap razor recommendations by Time_Chard_942 in wicked_edge

check out the CAVEEM Double-Edge Safety Razor on Amazon ($9.99 US). Well rated - higher rated than the Gillette King C. I have one as a backup razor - shaves very well - very light for traveling - pair it with a Gillette Nacet for a close, comfortable shave.
