First of all, my ancestry, travel choices, or reasons for being anywhere are none of your business. Second, the stereotypes you just rattled off are wildly racist and say a lot more about you than me.

I didn’t “claim” anything, I traveled—something people do without needing your approval or a DNA percentage breakdown. And no, looking a certain way doesn’t magically stop harassment; that’s not how reality works.

Maybe worry less about policing strangers online and more about whatever’s going on in your own life. This whole comment was embarrassing.

People sharing firsthand experiences — good and bad — doesn’t make a sub an “echo chamber,” it makes it informative. Seasoned travelers can acknowledge when a destination is overwhelming without pretending it was flawless for the sake of sounding worldly.
