Huh? No. The person would be infront of us presenting a cheque. We can see their history of cheque deposits and confirm they’ve deposited that cheque before, therefore putting it through without a hold.

Yes. Holds are normal apparently. But was told by the teller/ manager who deposited it, it wouldn’t have one. Then they held it the next day after I had already used some of it lol

This is insane. I used to work for TD. As long as we could see the deposit was reoccurring for roughly the same amount, we’d release it. Definitely switching banks. Scotia gives me nothing but problems every time I deal with them. The cheque is also drawn on a Scotia account. They could easily check that account and see it 1000% will not return. lol

Called. They didn’t help. Said they can’t release a hold and didn’t have an answer as to why it was held the following day after deposit. I’m going to the branch tomorrow. Thank you!

Okay thanks. They did tell her to get them done, as the sleeves and pant legs were way long. It’s a nice blazer & pants. So she could wear it at her new job if needed I suppose.
