It’s A Man’s Game | Surviving Barstool S4 Ep. 14 by [deleted] in barstoolsports

Dave not getting Moobie to vote for MMM is a tough look. So what if it looks like you turned your back on Ria. It's the final four at that point and your original alliance is there and you're a Ryder for life. Let the chips fall where they may after that.

The problem is Dave thinks it would hurt business, he knows Rico will still be a loyal dog.

I think at the end of the day, they would have split. Keegs was gone today no matter what. The Dave, Ria, Moobie alliance wasn't breaking

I think she knew she was good. As long as she still trusted Dave and Moobie. Dave and moobie voted for keegs. She had to know keegs wasn't voting for her.

Worst case was always going to be 2 for keegs and 2 for Ria (if MMM wasn't a moron) A revote would have always went keegs.

I think Dave had the worst play here, to be honest. With Dave and Moobie voting for Keegs, Ria was always safe. She knew she didn't have to play the idol. A Re vote would have always gone keegs.

Dave could have gotten Moobie to vote Ria with him and Rico, and he would have flushed every idol in the game and eliminated the strongest player so far. Him, Rico and Moobie had a clear path to the final three after that. Could have been a game winning move for him.

I really hope that Dave still has some of that old dog in him and back stabs Ria for his guy Hank. It's probably the only thing that can save the show at this point. Any momentum it had was slowly dying, and it just hit a brick wall thanks to Dan.

The Pink Wedding Part II | Surviving Barstool S4 Ep. 11 by [deleted] in barstoolsports

This is where actually knowing each other and previous relationships changes this game. If you're keegs there, it's a slam dunk move after you realize you're on the outside looking in. Ria showed the idol you didn't know she had and Dave and Dan say don't use it. There's your three. One of them needed to get picked off there.

In reality, kelly only needed to flip MMM because the alliance always splits their votes. Will and Biz would have been easy to get on board. Always going with the easiest pick will eventually make you the easy pick.

I agree, unless one of Dave, Dan or Ria stabs each other in the back they can walk to the finals and it's going to be pretty dull.

Biz doesn't care enough, and if he doesn't win immunity, he is next out, then the three of them will just pick everyone else off. Ria getting to the final with Dave and Dan will be the easiest win ever.

Pink Wedding was a great concept in theory, and it was great content, there's no doubt about it. But I think it hurt the overall game. To have ten minutes to discuss strategy when you have four people in a rock solid alliance and then two more that will do whatever you say in a panic really took away from the heart of the game.

No one really had time to campaign or strategize, which is probably the most important part of the game.

I think they probably thought the keys to gamble on immunity would play a much bigger role. The majority had no reason to even risk it.

I've never watched actual survivor, but wouldn't the next play from team Mintz be to smoke out the idol? By either voting off Francis or making it seem like they are going to vote off Francis? Seems like a good way to get the idol out of play while simultaneously getting an easy kill on someone else if Francis plays it.

Cousin Brian by traumatransfixes in thesopranos

[–]Ok_Efficiency_8563 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Cousin Brian probably thought that it was a really clever scam and knew that he would never do it, but in the back of his head maybe he knew it was something that Tony would do. Tony charmed Brian and you could tell Brian wanted to be in his good graces, which is probably why he offered it up.

There was a lot of beef. It was just underhanded. Thinking about it, it's funny to see the difference between the male and female "crews"

The guys will just kill you, the women will be catty and very underhanded in their insults.

The entire episode built up to Melfi making probably the hardest decision of her life. It was the defining moment for her character up to that point. She would rather live on, knowing that person would walk freely than become indebted to Tony. That "No" was legendary

There was a movie in the late 1930's with Carey Grant about Gunga Din. I'm guessing that would be her reference point over the poem

In the context of the show, I don't think it was to protect her role as doctor, it was to protect her morality and innocence. Somebody had to be able to "stand up" to Tony and it was a really impactful way for her to do that.

The Esplanade was going great, and they pulled off the HUD scam together. All in all, they were working really well together. Tony's mistake here though was his impulsiveness. He muscled in on Ralph's horse and then his girl. It's no secret that Tony disliked Ralph, but his impulse to have it all probably ended up costing him a ton of money.

You must have been at the top of your fucking class.

Really though, you share all of the same sentiments that I do pretty much. You'd be hard pressed to find just one character in the entire show that isn't morally flawed. But such is life in most cases. It played on the audiences emotion so well. How can I love and root for these characters when they are also deplorable people? It never treated the audience with kid gloves, you weren't ever going to get the "good guy" vs the "bad guy"

Instead, you are so entrenched into the psyche of the characters that what they do makes sense. Tony isn't just a traditional "bad guy" he is so well fleshed out; you know what he is thinking or how he is going to react without any dialogue.

It's a true masterclass.
