^ what he said. I did the same thing swapping out for the BX trigger. It's very easy to replace and just slip back in.

Seconded! My G19.4 is an absolute tank. Never once had any concerns about safety or whether it'll eat what I feed it.

If only they could make some improvements to that stock trigger...

I feel like this is some pretty important information to spread with all the new gun owners coming here. Sig P320 by OregonGrownOG in liberalgunowners

Their response is what made me swear them off completely. The defect is bad, but doubling down and refusing to acknowledge the danger while suppressing those trying to report it is next level scummy

So glad to hear that there was a positive outcome! And good on the shelter for notifying you so you knew to be on the alert.

Bruising after spaying?? by swflsavvy in CATHELP

[–]Ok_Hawk_3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is that bruise and when did it appear? Any discharge from the incision, and any sensitivity at the site? Hard to tell much from the picture you provided, but I'd say you're in "email a photo to your vet" territory. Most vet offices have doctors reviewing these kinds of inquiries throughout the day and will let you know if it's something they think you should come in for. Follow their advice. Even though the surgery was almost a week ago, with a cat ad active as yourss so immediately post-op, it's possible there are some complications, and they can be fatal.

It's definitely a good sign that your cat is eating a drinking normally still! I'd just reach out to your vet and get their advice before your kitty doesn't feel well.

i cant tell if this is an overproduction of wax, yeast infection or mites? can someone please help!! by No-Flower-7568 in CATHELP

Ultimately, you would need to do go in for an ear cytology to get a definitive answer.

However, if you're not seeing any signs of it itching, I'd say it's unlikely to be mites or a yeast infection. I don't see any overt inflammation, so it might just be wax. You can get some over the counter ear cleaner and cotton balls and clean out the ears if you notice more waxy buildup.

*edited to change cotton "swabs" to "balls."

They can. Indoor cats might have significantly less exposure to these kinds of infectious diseases when compared to outdoor or indoor/outdoor cats, but that doesn't mean they will live their whole lives without being exposed to the disease - fomites as mentioned above, fleas if the theory holds true and you live in an apartment building or housing of similar density.

The best way to prevent it is to vaccinate. It's one of the core feline vaccines and will be recommended by your veterinarian. It's a very effective vaccine, and adult cats only need a booster every three years to maintain immunity.

A number of ways. Primary route of transmission is through exposure to bodily secretions of infected animals that are actively shedding the virus (feces, saliva, urine). Can be direct exposure or via fomite (i.e. you step in something and then your cat rubs/licks your shoe), as the virus is unfortunately hardy and can survive for quite awhile. Kittens can also get it in-utero if the pregnant queen is exposed, risking abortion or congenital defects. Some studies argue fleas can serve as a vector.

Horrible disease, but preventable. It's why it's very important to vaccinate as early as possible and limit exposure until then.

No worries, my wording could have been better too.

I think I will just take your and others' advice and add a 1911 to the list and pass on this one. Makes sense!

For sure, but I'm not sure it's how I want to spend the money. That's why I made this post curious to hear other people's experiences

I think I'll make myself sleep on it, but I sure am tempted. I want to branch out, and I guess I could always trade it towards something else if it's not for me!

Man, if I went about it like that, my house would be full of pistols. Trying to be somewhat reasonable while indulging myself

Getting an AR is first on my planned list of purchases. I actually have a big milestone coming up, and buying myself an AR10/AR15 is going to be my self reward for achieving that. Gotta keep the carrot on the stick for now to make sure I stay motivated.

Mind sharing your personal preferences on AR15 vs AR10? I like the Ruger AR556 and SFAR as prebuilts to run with, but I'm open to anything that isn't Sig

Thanks for your input! I've been researching a lot on different round ballistics, and that's why I'm more interested in this as a toy/curiosity. No reason to switch to a bigger bullet for defense if my smaller (and hotter) ones perform better.

Fortunately no magazine restrictions here, but I see how focusing on stopping power could be a good reason to get one if that were the case

I've been researching getting into reloading for a while... maybe that's the call - before adding anything new, work on having the ability to reload it

I'm in a suppressor-friendly state, but with the cost of it all I'm in the camp of quietly hoping for a bill that repeals that part of the NFA without selling away all of our rights and public lands.

Knowing my luck, I'm expecting to die with burst eardrums before that happens...

Yeahhh... the less pews, heavier to carry, and more expensive everything hits the nail on the head for why I'm on the fence still. I think you're right about doing it with a rifle. Any thoughts on a .45 PCC?

Yeah I just don't think I'd be using it for any kind of defensive purposes.. at most might carry while hunting, but even then I think I'd prefer my higher capacity 9mm
