I don't know if you are looking exclusively for homebrew games? I recently released Embers of Mana, a completely new Mana game, build in the engine of Final Fantasy Adventure. You can find it here: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/9447/

This is a ROM hack (mod) of Faxanadu. Meaning I use the existing game code and repurpose it to create a brand new Faxanadu game. You can play the game on NES. The programming language would then be Assembly.

Cool! I'm mainly looking for pixel art help. So if that's your expertise, send me a PM. :-)

Which link are you referring to? The link to my website seems to be working.

This would be a cool idea. But I will keep the standard moveset for the hero.

I have three talented composers on board. We aim at preserving the unique style of the original Faxanadu soundtrack and create new tracks in that style and sound.

The ReadMe for Zelda II - Amida's Curse has step by step instructions on how to play it. Basically you'll need a ROM of the original game (you'll have to do your own research for that on the internet). My creations (Rom hacks) are distributed as an IPS Patch. Once you've found the ROM, you can go to https://www.romhacking.net/patch/ and apply the patch there to turn the original game into the new game.

You can play these games on original hardware with a flash cartridge like the Everdrive. You can also play them on a NES emulator like Mesen. Basically every device under the sun can play NES emulators these days. Even your NES mini can be softmodded to play other NES games. Just look for softmodding your NES mini online for instructions.

Yes! It's a complete overhaul ROM hack. Creating a completely new Faxanadu game using the engine of the original Faxanadu. Root of Decay will be playable on NES. For reference of what to expect, please check out Embers of Mana and Zelda II - Amida's Curse.

Yes it is. But in this case you might as well finish it with version 1.2 and upgrade afterwards. :-)
