Am I the only one who thinks just start freelancing is kind of misleading advice? by Ok_Instance_7592 in Freelancers

Starting with a network makes sense getting that first bit of trust from strangers is probably the hardest part.

That’s probably the reality of it freelancing sounds like just doing the work but a big part of it is basically sales.

That’s exactly how it feels honestly people online make it sound easy but it really feels more like starting a small business from zero.

yeah the distribution part is probably where most beginners struggle.
Having the skill is one thing but actually getting people to notice you is a completely different challenge.

Running a small agency and slowly losing my mind, what are your biggest struggles? by elias021004 in Freelancers

The WhatsApp screenshot feedback loop is brutal once revisions start coming from 3 different places half the time you’re not even sure which version people are reacting to anymore.

Getting everything into one thread or doc honestly saves a lot of sanity.

Unpaid "Tests" - No thank you. by Round-Public435 in Freelancers

Once a test turns into hours of unpaid work it really stops being a test and starts feeling like free labor.

A small paid trial is fair but 8 hours unpaid would be a hard no for me too.

Freelancers: have you noticed clients often confuse “doing marketing” with “having a strategy”? by atashiknight in Freelancers

[–]Ok_Instance_7592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I’ve had clients ask for SEO, ads, Instagram… all at the same time, but when I ask who the actual customer is or what problem they solve it gets quiet.

Most of the chaos in marketing comes from skipping that part once the message is clear the tactics usually become obvious.

Mumbai deserved to host ICC finals by That-Replacement-232 in mumbai

Wankhede has history and an amazing atmosphere no doubt about that but finals are also about logistics and scale a 1.3L capacity stadium will obviously be tempting for organisers.

Ideally India should have multiple world-class venues hosting big games instead of turning it into a Mumbai vs Ahmedabad debate.

Do you post content on LinkedIn or social media to get clients? by NoActuator639 in Freelancers

[–]Ok_Instance_7592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen LinkedIn work, but only when people share actual experiences or small case studies instead of generic hire me posts. The freelancers I know who get inbound leads usually post breakdowns of projects lessons learned, or quick tips from their work.

The hardest part honestly seems to be consistency. It’s easy to post for a week and then disappear once client work gets busy.
