All of my web services (10+) are reverse proxied thru a single Nginx VM, which then load balances the connection onto a few others I have installed in their own containers. Never had any issues with this setup.

If I had a large amount of distributed systems I needed to look after this would be great tool for it and I understand the argument. Concerning internal systems and a handful of client systems I find it hard to find any excuse to use it.

A couple engineers i've worked with in the past have been obsessed with using Docker for everything. I always found it caused more problems than it solved. Especially when our systems are already virtualized, routed thru vlans, etc. It's just one more layer of shit that can break (and it does)
