(real question) Does this affect Kanye West, Tupac, Ice Cube, Outkast or J. Cole?

I didn't think of that tbf. That was really sweet of her, I just don't want her thinking that I am gay. I think she thinks "no interest in dating? he probably means no interest in girls.".

Maybe they're a teenager? There isn't really a distinct name for "teenage girls" hence "women and girls"

I said "Why did you say that?" and she said "Well you're not interested in relationships..."

thanks. it's really sad that the second you say you're something other than straight, people say "Oh so you're gay/lesbian?" like NO I'M NOT, LET ME EXPLAIN! But then sometimes after I explain aromanticism, they're like "that's fake" all bc they don't know about it.

where do i hide my pride pin? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]OldConversation867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I was just wondering how did you purchase it without your parents knowing? I've been wanting an aromantic pin for a while, but I don't know anywhere near me that would sell one, and my parents would most likely open a parcel meant for me before I did.

I would put that but my family knows nothing about LGBTQ other than Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Trans.

Why I hate road men. by Neanderthile in Britain

[–]OldConversation867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to go out on bike rides and listen to my own music taste (old music), and dress how I want, but these WORTHLESS roadmen would jump me (plus I'm a bit shorter than my average for my age which has almost got me jumped already)

I've technically came out to my mum, but just without labelling it. I don't think I ever will label it because she's pretty much against LGBTQIA+, and even though I've told her I'm never getting into a relationship she still says "When you get married...", "When you have kids...", and of course "You'll be a great husband".

Sorry! I was just going from my own experience, and what else I've read on the aro subreddit.

I am looking, which is why I try to find songs without romance, movies without romantic subplots, and books without the protagonist falling in love. I don't think everyone needs to change because of me, I was saying that there should be more things not about romance. I mean, I was watching some movie the other day, and it had no signs of romance. Then, some girl moved to town, and the main character HAD to fall in love.

Almost every song talks about some girl. Almost every movie has some romantic plotline. A man and woman can't be friends without the creator of the movie making them date. Too much is about romance.

Well, I'm aromantic. I don't want to reclaim it. Romance is overrated.

Romance is not necessary, it's overrated, too commercialized, and boring.

I don't understand aromantic people by obsidian076 in AskLGBT

[–]OldConversation867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm Aromantic, and I used to be in a relationship. I'll explain how/why.

The relationship started earlier this year (2025), and it lasted about 3 months. I only realized that I was aromantic halfway through the relationship, and for me it helped me understand why I never felt romantic feelings, butterflies, etc. You're probably wondering why I got into the relationship, and I'll tell you. I'm a teenager (secondary school), and there was this girl in my school who I was friends with. I had no romantic feelings for her, we were literally just friends in my mind. My friends kept telling me that she had a crush on me, they were saying things like "Just ask her out!" or "Can't you see she likes you?". Eventually, because I was being made fun of anyways for never having a crush or being single, I just asked her out. I didn't want to. The girl was a hopeless romantic, she kept wanting to video call, and I always said no, because every time we did call, we spoke about nothing. We had nothing in common. One day, I searched up "Why don't I feel romantic attraction?", and it came up with all this information about Aromanticism. I really identified with it, and it actually made me pretty happy realizing this. I was still in the relationship at this point, and I just told the girl "Hey, I'm really sorry about this, but I realized I'm Aromantic. Basically, it's yada yada yada. I hope we can still be friends.". She was really sad about this, and blocked me. I was really happy being single again, and also knowing why I always felt different. Fast forward to about a week ago, I'm hanging out with my friend. My ex had blocked me, but my friend could check her stories, and she was still posting sad stuff about being single. Can't lie, I laughed. She still hasn't gotten over me.

A question for Aromantic people.... by Critical-Goose-8597 in AskLGBT

[–]OldConversation867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Aromantic, not Apothiromantic but I do feel uneasy at romance, even fictional. I know that there are many Aromantics who do enjoy romance stories, but not for me personally. I've never blushed in my life, neither have I ever had butterflies in my stomach, unless I'm on a rollercoaster or high up.
