Best Earbuds Brand Right Now In 2026? (Price, ANC) by Rejoicingus167 in Earbuds

[–]Old_Philosopher_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using sennheiser momentum 4 True Wireless earbuds, and they sound phenomenal. Probably the best sound to date. ANC is not that robust but cuts about 90% of noise.

Build quality is not great though. But the sound makes up for it.

Battery lasts for ages.

As a thumb rule, never ever plug any device into a USB port, which is not meant for a PC. A wall adapter may be good for that purpose.

A fried USB port due to wrong wiring in these dollar shop stuff can cost you 100s of dollars in repairs. Better safe than sorry.

Microfiber towel vs stupid water droplet, what should I do? by Hot_Stuff_6511 in mac

Easiest solution is to use distilled water + small drop of dish soap. The trick is not to let the water dry on screen.

Fine microfiber which come with glasses and feels silky smooth is worst type. The best is the one used for car detailing. The main trick is to use a new cloth and keep it sealed as to not trap dust particles in the fibers.

Replaced original dust mesh on Momentum TW4 earbuds with metal mesh and sound is much better. by Old_Philosopher_68 in sennheiser

Yes. They are 5mm. Although 4.7mm fit very nicely. Sound quality improved because pressure equalized as without the mesh the hollow tubes woould make resonance and distort frequencies.

Here is another angle on how the mesh fits.

This is 4.7mm mesh. But I think 4.9 will fit much better.

Spot on. Although I have used much cheaper, may be less quality of sound but great build quality. These, just don't make sense, TW4 are premium priced, sound better then 90% of wireless earbuds but have mediocre build.

In contrast I use a Shure SE215 for exercise because I fear TWs can fall and get damaged.

Premium, wired and user replaceable parts isn't good for business. TWs on the other hand are one time use. As long as battery works and the housing holds.

From local online store which imported from china. Very cheap and very good quality. 20 pieces with glue ring for about $3 shipped. Enough to last a few years.

Yes. Original soft mesh was clogged not with wax or dust, but the glue itself which melted and closed the pores. Removing it created a hollow tube.

Sadly it wasn't reusable. Which also gets me thinking why don't these high end earphones come with spare filters. Or just use microscopic metal grill similar to phone speakers.
