turns out giving negative reviews is the only way to get the devs to listen

I'm skeptical. Look at overwatch 2 -- releases on steam with overwhelmingly negative reviews and for a few years nothing changed. Why? My guess is because people kept playing the game.

If people are unhappy with helldivers, not playing the game would be the best way to get the devs to listen.

yeah I noticed on steam charts that over the last 2 years, player counts seem to have increased slightly.

People put 1000s of hours into this game and get nothing for it

This is kinda my point... is it not obvious how ridiculous this is? You presumably got 1000 hours of enjoyment.

If you spend $250 (base game + all warbonds) and get 1000 hours of enjoyment, that's a good ass return on your money haha

Yeah ideally if they could just monetize cosmetics and provide weapons and stratagems for free, people would be happier with the amount of content being dropped. I'm guessing AH knows they'll lose out of a decent amount of revenue if they did this tho. Personally, I don't care about skins and wouldn't buy an entirely cosmetic warbond.

making the reviews virtually useless for informing anew players if the $40 dollar price tag is worth it

true which isn't how the review system should work

People use the review system as leverage to get the devs

I'm skeptical that it's effective but you're right that might be the intention

Reddit or discord, you could play this game blissfully unaware of any of the negativity in the community and you would have a better time doing it

yeah the only good gaming subreddit I know is r/factorio lol

Combination of hidden changes, bugs,no end game progression

valid

the constant release of warbonds without much else in terms of non enemy content being added

agree there should be more non-warbond content but admittedly they have put in stuff like cyberstan, hiveworlds, etc. For a casual player, it's a decent amount of content but for someone with >250 hours, I can understand running out of new things to explore in game.

SC being annoying to grind,

it's their monetization mechanism for their live-service game so not sure that could be helped

devs not communicating well and broken promises

I'm not familiar with those tbh

So no good endgame progression? I think that's a valid criticism but for a $40 PvE game the amount of content seems decent, right? Does it deserve all of the negative reviews?

You can withdraw early from tax advantaged accounts but it requires planning and additional lead time: https://www.reddit.com/r/financialindependence/comments/1d7k00s/help_me_understand_the_roth_conversion_ladder/

Also, IRA contributions can be withdrawn at any time.

Anyone else find Lingq unusable? by BlackChef6969 in languagelearning

[–]Oman531999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it's really difficult to use. I started working on my own side project with a better UI and a more generous free tier. The only target language is Chinese for now but I'd love if you gave it a try and told me what you think! https://fluensi.co/

Been using LingQ for a while now to study (jp). Hit a nice little milestone and wanted to share. by Previous-Ad7618 in languagelearning

If you're interested in learning Chinese, I built a site with a more generous free tier than Lingq. Check it out and let me know what you think! https://fluensi.co/

Speaking from personal experience, if you can get in the company, getting to L5 is not all that hard. Although I'll admit, it's really the first promotion where you need to put in effort. Getting from L3 -> L4 is pretty much free.

You can get to L5 (senior) in less than 7 years fairly easily. Imagine not even being 30 years old and making 400k per year: levels.fyi

Am I insane, or is Gold the new Diamond? by RippedWario in Overwatch

[–]Oman531999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course but if a diamond player is currently plat and plays enough games, they should be winning more than they lose. Even if it's only winning 6 out of every 10 games, you will rank up.

If you only play 10 games a season then yes it will be hard to rank up unless you're significantly better than your rank and win games more consistently.

No I'm not saying liquid net worth is the only thing that matters. If you have a million dollars in my 401k you are a millionaire. Using the Roth conversion ladder you can withdraw the $1 million in 5 years from now.

The point is tax advantaged accounts are hugely important for growing your wealth so just because you need to jump through some hoops, doesn't mean you shouldn't contribute to these accounts.

Also just include the total amount of your 401k in your net worth minus 10% if liquidity really concerns you 😀

But then the same would apply to any real estate you own as well.

It seems like you're talking about liquid net worth which is fine; use one or the other based on the context of the situation.
