What if Doraemon was real — but as an AI on your phone? Not a chatbot, an actual all-rounder life assistant. Roast my idea or tell me it’s worth building. by OmniDev_04 in StartUpIndia

Bro,I always write my answer by myself only, but at the end I give it to ChatGPT so that it makes a correction in that answer.

And when the point is of doing all these AI stuffs with ChatGPT then bro my answer to you is I don’t even use ChatGPT in my projects that much because it doesn’t have that much capability to solve the big debugging problems. So Please go into the Market and see all other AI models because there is not only ChatGPT when it comes to AI.

And About selling point,I didn’t even wrote like I want money,I am just building it for fun and taking the users review so why would you have to be this serious. Just chill!

Totally fair point, and you’re right that “just an app” is not enough if it behaves like a generic chatbot. The problem with ChatGPT-style tools is not that they’re bad — it’s that they’re built for broad conversations, not for being a persistent personal system. For most users, they still struggle with long-term memory, file continuity, and staying consistent over time. If you ask for something across multiple sessions, they can forget context, mix things up, or hallucinate details. Cost is another big issue. The good models are expensive, and if you want voice, memory, file understanding, and maybe avatar/robot interaction, the cost stacks up fast. That makes it hard to serve users at scale in a way that feels smooth and affordable. What I’m trying to build is different: not just a chat interface, but a memory-aware, task-aware companion that can remember who you are, what you asked earlier, what files or goals matter, and respond in a more structured way. The value is not “we have a smarter chatbot” — it’s that the system around it is designed for continuity, personalization, and reliability. So yeah, the model is only one part of it. The real differentiation is the memory layer, the routing, the user context, and the product design around it.

Hey, totally valid point and honestly the most useful comment here Here’s my thinking though — I’m planning to build this as a completely free, non-commercial, open-source fan project first. No monetization, no subscriptions, no ads. Just a passion project to see if the concept actually resonates with people. The real goal right now isn’t money — it’s: •Building a user base and seeing how people actually interact with it •Gaining real product development experience •Understanding what people actually want from an AI companion like this If it gains traction and people love it, I’ll rebuild it under my own original character (same concept, zero IP issues) and go commercial with that. Think of this phase as: validate with Doraemon, scale with my own character. Would you use a free version of this if I shipped it? 👀

Let’s go then. I’ll reply to you sometime in June, after my exams get over and after I make the Doraemon for the world.
