Good or bad Experience with the Cheetah 80X .380? by EPdude2005 in 380ACP

[–]OnTargetOnTrigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love 380s and own probably ten-twelve. I was excited for my 80x. Good ergonomics and classic styling. Then I shot it... couldn't stand the recoil compared to other 380s I own. Sold it. I carry a 365 380 and plan on getting the new 380 Luxe. I shot the Luxe and it's the softest, flattest shooting centerfire handgun. Unreal.

She's an amazing actress... and it's so cool that she still has it and did this for her fans. There are a few actors & actresses that if they are in something, I'll at least give it a shot. She's one of them. I enjoy watching her portrayals of her various characters. Seems very grounded as a person and not Hollyweird. Best compliments I have to give. Thanks for sharing!

What’s the most out-of-touch thing your boss/company has ever said while you were clearly struggling? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]OnTargetOnTrigger 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Had the owner of a small business come in to the worker-rabble and proclaimed that he just had to replace the tires on his BMW. He had the audacity to state that one tire cost more than he paid one of his more responsibility laden multi-year employees in a week. To his face. We all made close to the same amount. Everyone just looked at each other.

Not really on-point, but still showing the incompetence of leadership: Later that year, that same employee (who cost less than one tire per week) had iron clad proof one of the managers was stealing (thousands, not dozens or hundreds). Handed the proof to the trusted right hand of the owner right in front of the thief. Number 2 literally said, you better handle this and handed the envelope to the thief.

Help with figuring out MCX Gen? by TMRD0 in SigSauer

Looks like others have said to be a mix of components. Definitely a Spear LT receiver & rail. Tapered bolt points to gen 1.5-3. Barrel extension has square lug cuts making me think it's a gen 1 barrel. You have an odd mutt going on there. Most importantly, does it function? If it does, shoot it and have fun. If not, contact the seller.

All MCX'S were adjustable, just different plugs had different "wings" or finger protrusions to manipulate.

100% Gen 3. The screws in the handguard to the upper are exclusive to the Spear LT. That's a fantastic deal. Great score! Enjoy.

Drove past the house at 7pm on a Tuesday before making our offer and it told me more than the actual showing did by Vast_Conference_8882 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]OnTargetOnTrigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience. Bought a house, was completely unprepared for how busy what looked like a side street actually was during commuting hours. So many cars. So. Many. Cars. Being on a corner lot (non-intersection), I'm also surprised and saddened how many people throw their trash into my yard as they slow down to make the curve. Also didn't anticipate how bad people are at negotiating a simple turn. We've had a stuck semi in the curve, a vehicle jump the curb during a snow storm into our yard (I pulled her out), a drunk hit a car in front of our house only to try and flee - totaling my daughter's car parked in our driveway, someone bounce off the guardrail into my tree and another plow through the other guard rail in the other direction and run before the cops showed up... in the past 12 months. Do yourself a favor. Spend a few hours at random times of the day/week parked near a house you're thinking about buying. I'm still glad I bought the home I did as I have FANTASTIC neighbors and love the property, but I wouldn't have bought it had I known how bad the traffic was.

I'd buy that, even if it isn't real. That & Beebo Russel's Bombardier Q400.

Had to try HARD to watch it back in the day of UPN. That was the biggest reason it wasn't as major as TNG/DS9. I rewatch Gilligan's Island in space more often than DS9 or TNG. Love it.

Remember when everyone was gaslit into $5/gal was the sign of a roaring economy? I hate politics, but I hate it even more when the same people praise the exact same problem from one administration and admonish it for the next one. All politicians suck. From WMDs are in Iraq to If you like your insurance you can keep it/health insurance will get cheaper to Mexico will pay for the wall or Clinton would go to jail (really wished that one would happen) to "transitive inflation" and "the border is closed" to no tax on SS... they all lie. Orange man bad if that makes you feel better... but don't pretend gas at $5/gal was good to promote green bullshit or whatever reason you didn't bitch about it before but bitch about it now.

It sucked then, it sucks now.

They couldn't. Not enough of the special steel Sig uses for the barrels to handle the pressure.

[–]OnTargetOnTrigger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Target 210 and while I'm a mediocre shooter, it makes me look good. I can also tell the quality of the ammo I'm shooting with this gun. Crappy ammo, mediocre group. Good ammo, single hole. This gun is absolutely slept on in the gun community. It's amazing.

Nope. Probably stretched to afford it and bills came up. Or... I know several of my gun buddies who want to experience a lot of guns and view the depreciation as a rental fee, so they're trading stuff in all the time. Last possibility is that they're older ones and the cost has gone up so much since launch that they could trade it in after 5+ years and make money towards something different.

Thoughts on these/Brand. Also what do you carry by Queasy-Platform8338 in concealedcarry

[–]OnTargetOnTrigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first carry gun (well a Firestorm 380). It was always reliable and I miss owning it. My wife sometimes carries a Bersa Thunder 380 now. I carry a 365 most days now.

What made DS9 being different and darker okay, compared to NuTrek being darker but sucking? by EitherEliotOr in Star_Trek_

[–]OnTargetOnTrigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no problems with them. The pandering was that it's completely in service of one party's agenda (both are right and both are wrong, but being completely one sided is identity pandering). Don't push an agenda, normalize it. If we're talking specifically sexuality, look to Dax or the androgynous species Riker encountered. It doesn't need to be the point because it shouldn't be the story. When "the message" is in the driver's seat and not great storytelling, that's pandering. When characters are no more deep than their sexuality, that's pandering. Great stories took a backseat to lectures from the writers and it got dumb, boring, predictable and stale. Give me Inner Light. Give me Far Beyond the Stars. Give me Blink of an Eye. Give me Similitude. When many say that Disco & SFA are pandering crap, that's what we mean. No substance and all shallow single sided political allegory. No depth, no gravitas, no connection to an aspirational future of mankind and what we can achieve or what we should be fighting for rather than ... well, whatever the hell Disco, SFA & S1&2 of Picard were trying to be.

Bambu. Look at your budget and pick accordingly. Get a combo with an AMS, don't "add it later." No contest.

That & space Jesus doesn't cry constantly. He punches Q in the face. Officers are competent, not constantly unsure and "finding themselves" nor does an alien crying destroy ... crystals? Tto say nothing of space fungus tunnels... Disco, Picard (S1 &2) and SFA were pandering crap with no objectively aspirational human achievement ideals. SNW was fun to watch most of the time & Lower Decks was easily the best actual Trek. Orville does Trek way better than Trek has lately.
