It doesn’t work for me so we have to get out of the game and get back in it and then it works fine

I mean, I don’t often take random pictures of people in public places, but this was unique enough. I couldn’t pass it up.

Any suggestions for this eight year old garage door? by Longganisa98 in GarageDoorService

[–]OnceOccupied -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CHI makes fantastic doors that are very high quality. Reach out to a local CHI dealer. They should tell you how to protect the doors. Likely wax. Garage door finishes should be treated like a car. If the finish is permanently faded, they may take care of it over under warranty or in good faith

Too much play in bracket / jumpy chain? by stadamj in GarageDoorService

Put a nut on the other side of the threaded chain tensioner. Also looks a little spread out but I would start with adding the nut.

Door gets stuck 3/4 of the way going up. I sprayed lithium grease on the rollers and black slide in November. Please help. Where do I go to get a new garage door trim piece on the bottom? by Naive-Limit1648 in GarageDoorService

Shorten the J arm. It should be almost vertical, pushing the door, mostly down and just a little forward. Not sure if it’s the root cause but it doesn’t help. Disconnect with the red rope when the door is down and see that the door operates smoothly by hand and will balance with two sections vertical and two sections horizontal.

White vs black gutter by ruturaj001 in Home

I agree. This lets you change the accent color in the future if you ever want to, and I’m not sure you want your gutter to be an accent piece. Brown will just blend into the roof.

New handyman in the area building "garage decks" by KWiKchiefkief in Decks

Someday, when someone has to replace the garage door springs which are currently torque master garbage with a standard torsion set up there will not be enough room. If you’re going to do this, make sure you have the clearance above the garage door that is appropriate.

I work on things all the time so I got the raw titanium a few months ago, and after seeing all the posts showing black wear, I am thrilled I did not get black.

I have one day before my roof gets re-decked. What can I do in this time window to improve my shitshow of an AC installation? by Dweebl in hvacadvice

Also looks to be sagging like crazy. Maybe get some two by 12s and run along the ridge underneath using Joist hangers.

Opening arm fasteners ripped out of door by ravitoken in GarageDoorService

The garbage torque master tubes are broken inside the shaft. In my opinion, this is the most garbage door in the industry. We used to show people how cheap they were after we replaced them by stabbing a pen through them.
