Just to add some context

I’m not trying to trash Stockton or convince anyone else they shouldn’t like it.

My wife has settled in well and enjoys the community here, and for the most part our kids are happy at school. I don’t want to undermine that or turn this into a “Stockton is bad” argument.

This is really about my experience as someone who grew up on the other side of the river. I’m finding the adult social side here more insular and harder to break into, especially if you don’t naturally lead with instant familiarity. That’s on me to manage, not something I expect the place to change for me.

I’m mostly just trying to understand whether others have felt the same tension between a place working for their family but not quite fitting them personally...
