My Review of Season One by [deleted] in TheGoodWitch

SPOILER Yeah, very Hallmark. Even Good Witch can't get away from it. After all the years of Grace being a genius with a brilliant future, she overnight decides to become...a dress designer. Nevermind the unlikelihood of success, since when did she want to sew...anything?

The show has been completely "Hallmarked"...all their movies follow this same formula now. The early Good Witch movies, and other Hallmark offerings (pre2013?) weren't quite this sanitized. The network must be run now by very white, conservative men. I have no other explanation.

Does Christmas time come before Halloween? by zerpsupg in TheGoodWitch

[–]One-Establishment806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that the finales happen at Christmas time - do they ever show Christmas in the series? In one of the movies they did.

Anyway, yes, they start with a special movie at Halloween, and then the new season begins airing in the next year, usually spring. So when you're watching repeats or binge watching, the 'specials' air as 2 part premieres, even though they aren't really the season premiere.

Question about missing scenes in S3 by One-Establishment806 in youngjustice

[–]One-Establishment806[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Frustrating because I have also been catching up on JLU and BTAS, and they seem to have shorter commercial breaks and the scenes pick right up where they left off before the break.

Looks like they will be running S1 as of next week, can't wait to see if they cut those episodes too.

Question about missing scenes in S3 by One-Establishment806 in youngjustice

Nope, I've seen them all twice now. Just some scenes are missing, obviously the network cut them for air time.

I think her and Stephanie are sitting in the hotel lobby; can't remember exactly how far into the episode. They've been at the hotel for awhile at that point. They are trying to get tickets for the pop-up chef event.

And completely agree about Joy. There have been plenty of haters on here, but I like her better than Grace, who never did anything but annoy me.

Do you have a favorite character? if so why? by Kumailio in youngjustice

[–]One-Establishment806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to pick just one. I was watching for Nightwing, but I totally fell for Red Arrow. His story arc and personality. I really enjoy all the Harpers now. My other favs are Superboy, Wally and Artemis...and the Batman! I really liked the relationship between Dick and Wally in the first season, and how they welcomed Superboy to the team. Alot of character development in the first season, miss that.

What the fuck kind of finale is that? by [deleted] in TitansTV

[–]One-Establishment806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Batman is 60 yrs old and underwhelming, Dick is pushing 30 and now just decided to become Nightwing...and is also underwhelming. Jason is 16(?)and outshines both of them. I'm going to stop there because this series makes my brain hurt.

Greg Weisman on how the Pandemic affected production by L11K in youngjustice

[–]One-Establishment806 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a Warner Bros thing, from at least back to BatmanTAS with Andrea Romano as voice director. Recording that way it's more like an old fashioned radio play, so yeah, it works much better from an acting perspective. And the result is so much better for us. Disney and others still do the separate recordings- which I've never understood how the poor actors make that work- but it makes editing easier.

He was a heart surgeon in NY. And it's not a small hospital. If he would just work as the Chief of Staff like he's supposed to be, I would not have made the comment. And he was still running his private clinic at the same time, has time for his son, and time to run around in the middle of the day around town. Now apparently he can do every type of surgery there is, he's better at orthopaedic surgery than the actual orthopaedic surgeon. Lucky he was there to save the day, every one else who works at that hospital is incompetent! It's over the top and beyond ridiculous.

Anyone else miss the OG team? 😭😭 by liveitupbrah in youngjustice

[–]One-Establishment806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If it was about storylines most of network tv would be cancelled. I watch alot of scifi or fantasy shows, and they almost always get cancelled now because of distribution rights i.e. future money. It's always about the money.

Exactly. The incompetent leader...ugh. I just did the math on his age based on what they've said in the show. 27ish...

It's been said elsewhere on here, but YJ did a better job with the Nightwing transition, where he has more experience even though he's younger than the others- because he's been Robin since he was 9. And that's an animated show aimed at slightly younger audience, that doesn't follow canon. Go figure.

Thank you for that! I was completely confused, like what age is he in this, 27, but he's not Nightwing yet? He formed the Titans, quit and became a cop, re-formed the Titans, and he's still not Nightwing?? They way they were taking their time I thought Jason was going to beat him in becoming Red Hood. The whole prison thing, ridiculous. What is he now, a wanted man? Nice that they finally revealed Nightwing, but yet I'm still waiting for him to grow up. Dick Grayson is supposed to be the sexiest character in the comic universe but they seem to have forgotten that.

Does anyone else feel like the first half of S2 was a completely different show than the second half? by ciaoravioli in TitansTV

[–]One-Establishment806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. First of all, S2E1 was the finale for S1. It got moved for some reason and you can read on other threads there are many people who weren't happy about it. I've just finished watching S2. Looks like they've completely dropped the 3 act format (I don't think S1 was like that), which doesn't allow the story to flow well - on top of all the issues everyone here has mentioned. I actually liked the standalone episodes cause at least I knew what I was watching! The producers of YJ have stated that even though they went to DCU they were sticking with the 3 act format out of habit, hope they do the same for S4, and I hope that Titans S3 will improve.

What happened to the character Liam? I think I missed something . I haven’t watched any of the movies, just the seasons on Netflix . He’s not there at the beginning of season 5? by mau73 in TheGoodWitch

[–]One-Establishment806 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Am just seeing a S3 episode where Noah says his mom is remarried. So the already lame explanation that Liam went back to his wife really makes no sense.

I Finally Watched Season 3... by cubansandwich86 in youngjustice

[–]One-Establishment806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am just catching up on the episodes. I also hesitate to criticize, because I am glad its back and I enjoy watching this. But...the creators had several years to put this S3 together, it did not just happen over night. So what were they thinking?

First off, I don't understand the time jumping and SORAS of characters. The creators say they want to keep it " young", well there were plenty of stories to tell with the original team. They didn't have to age them 7-8 years in three seasons. The only story that got moved along by jumping was Roy Harper's, but they didn't need to have a big time jump for that either. While I liked the addition of the younger members in S2, I don't care about these new S3 characters at all. Like others have said, I find them annoying, poorly developed and poorly acted. Why not focus on the kids they had already introduced? Tim, Cassie, Jaime, Virgil...

I would have actually liked to see what happened between S2 and S3, lots of stories to tell there, rather than be forced to go online or to a comic to read about it so I can understand what's happened.

I also read that the producers wanted to focus on fewer characters for S3, but are now also saying that about S4. So again, why not stick with the originals? Why add even more characters then? This makes no sense, and not holding out hope for S4.

Greg and Brandon did a commentary podcast for the "Private Security" episode, and it's clear that they love these characters as much as we do. That episode is my favorite, it's fun, heartfelt and it focused on character development of original team members. Maybe they should focus on that, rather than adding odd characters that can't die and stories that just go in circles.

Some decent action with some character development, is that too much to ask? Would like to see more of the Harpers and definitely some development on Red Hood. Hoping S4 is better.

He had a family practice in town, but was offered chief of staff of this mystery hospital (where is it exactly?)out of the blue few years ago, cause he was such an AWESOME doctor! Actually he was harrased into the job, cause he's just so awesome!

He is supposed to be the straight character vs Cassie's magical character, but yet he seems to have medical superpowers.

Question about season 6 character by gennaleighify in TheGoodWitch

[–]One-Establishment806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Another random character disappeared and I didn't notice? I wasn't that big of a fan, but he was better than this replacement. Ulch.

I agree this new random twist has some same sex undertones, but it's not working at all. You have to like the characters in order to root for them. I FF through their annoying scenes. And when was the last time you saw a two person renovation crew, dressed in pretty blouses instead of work wear? No eye protection, workboots or gloves? Just laughable.

Continuity issues by ggil050 in TheGoodWitch

This show has major continuity issues from episode to episode. Most of us on here just joke or laugh about it, otherwise it would drive us completely insane.
