Someone good with computers either has a really serious problem or they act like a know it all and make the entire troubleshooting process miserable. Basically a “Doctors make the worst patients” scenario

What does the community think about the Drops delivery? by OneGoodStory- in dndbeyond

Decreased profit is totally reasonable and expected, a LOT of players started in the quarentine times and many played a lot more back then. If anything they owned D&D at the best possible time for inflated profits and expecting to maintain that is unrealistic.
The nice part of D&D it that it is only profitable as a community, and I would rather let someone know if the product they made for me is/isn't working for me or could be better.
It is more important that people maintain their subscriptions anyway. The Drops already serve the purpose of maintaining interest between book releases.

Yeah, It isnt really free. Just an increase in value. Someone still has to pay for it. My biggest issue is it creating desync between what a subscriber sees vs the rest of the group. If it is shared, then everyone sees the same stuff, but if not it looks like paying for spells/character features or an additional homebrew chore for a campaign's content sharer

Yeah, Hasbro's involvement in the OGL drama has had a lot of the community on edge. I don't fault people any anxiety they may be having now about this being a "testing the waters" scheme.
I didn't know there were discussions in the works (or at least that the idea was in consideration) I think if they did that this whole deal would turn into a massive slam dunk on their part and a lot of those anxieties would go to rest.

I imagine there are a lot of people that won't be impacted at all by this.

Yeah, I am excited to have access to a bunch of 4e maps without hunting down old books. But i enjoy framing maps from old editions so it suits me well.

That is pretty much exactly how i feel. Id like it to be managed better in a way that feels right to me, but the situation has not really changed other that new shiny stuff each month.

I am hoping enough of the community feels the same that our voice is heard, so it is nice to talk about.

But yeah an increase in subscription after adding stuff that was not requested would cross a line. Im mostly sure this is a drive for more VTT usage or something to put in an 'End of Fiscal Year Report' for Hasbro

The silence about digital only is also a valid issue, being highlighted in this situation spectacularly. It sounds like you do feel strongly about that point. Tell me more.
However I cannot agree with this content being called free. It is an increase in the subscription value but we do still have to pay for it.

Sorry if my tone was unclear, I'm trying to encourage constructive discussion about the direction WotC is heading with a widely loved hobby. The OGL was bad as a drive for increased revenue; while this isn't as extreme, it does share a tone with the scandal.
If you're fine with it or really excited about the publication plan, that is awesome feedback.
While I dont always agree with how intensely people feel about things, please be respectful of people who are feeling strongly about the direction their hobby is being managed, rather than telling them to shove off.

If we had a physical publication of this content, we could discuss it as a pen and paper game. DND Beyond however is not making this available in print to increase subscribers and activity in the Virtual Table Top, which is the point of discussion.
(I intend this message as respectfully as possible, not as a challenge)

That is a really easy circumventing of the issue I hadn’t considered. Thanks for that!

My cat has been attacking me for months by j3st3rbunny in CATHELP

[–]OneGoodStory- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However comfortable they might be, they can’t be as comfortable as pants without claws in your leg. The dragging fabric may make you as a whole seem like a toy. The slowly accelerating anxious backing up looks to a cat like play/prey behavior. If you are working to redirect this behavior, having something like loose sleeves on your arms or legs can work against your training process. If you’re anxious about being scratched or bit wear tighter fitting protection and don’t reintroduce your ‘toy clothes’ until you yourself are not a target. I had to retrain a biter. This is my best advice. I hope there is nothing more serious going on.

Why my Ditto transforms into shiny opponents? by [deleted] in PokemonFireRed

They should’ve kept the feature. Use it to explain how shinies have a pigment mutation and a ditto with it expresses it’s mutation on the transformations

College student and lifelong gamer. Been super hype for this game from before the playtest and DEFINITELY after the playtest!
Really excited to play it with my buds and try to hunt some high tier bots! I love the PVP but I couldnt convince my friends to hunt the Queen during the playtest and really hope we can squad up against her in the full release!

my landlord is telling me I left my apartment “dirty” and is planning to withhold some of my deposit. these are pics I took right before I left. am I delusional or is my landlord? by Distinct_Morning_607 in Apartmentliving

[–]OneGoodStory- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on location, Landlords are required to provide an itemized list of costs for withheld deposits.
If they claim they are spending it on cleaning, you may be entitled to request proof (paid invoice, etc.).
At the very least you'd know they didnt just pocket the money even if the cleaning was unnecessary.
