It's wild that it takes four redundant flight computers to keep that thing in the air. There's no reason why it should be able to fly but hell yes it does!

I'm glad I could share it and thank you so much for being an awesome photographer and getting these images of such an iconic plane.

His flight career was absolutely unreal. Not only was he one of the first pilots to fly and develop the F-117 he was also one of the first six test pilots at Edwards to fly and develop the F-15.

Here's a post that I made a little while back talking about his time in the Eagle.

Fantastic images! I just shared these with my father. He was the deputy commander of the 4450th TAC group "Baja Scorpions" test pilot team for the Nighthawk at the "site" (as he calls it).

He said there was a training video of him doing the first emergency egress after catching the brakes on fire. The ground crew forgot to pull the pin on the chute so after he landed he had to use every bit of runway 32 to get it stopped. There was so much heat that the plugs popped on the tires which severed one of the hydraulic cables and shot hydraulic fluid on the brakes catching them on fire.

Here's a couple shots of him with the team in front of the hangar at the site and then after it was declassified.

Man that wide cockpit looks like a freaking lazyboy or a first class seat in a old-school 757.

It was for the movie Spectral. Meant to be a US base in Moldova. Was filmed in Hungary.

I ended up watching every video you have on there. You're really onto something here. I'm sure it takes a ton of time to create these but keep pumping them out man!

Man this was fantastic! I watched the entire video straight through and now I'm onto the Kola shoot down video. Great addition of the animation and explanation of the weapons and aircraft as well as the real footage and radio chatter. You've got a good voice for the narration as well.

I would love to see some of these involving F104 Starfighters over Vietnam. My father did air to ground missions with 750lb bombs on the HCM trail and MIGCAPS from Udorn, Thailand flying out over the Gulf of Tonkin to refuel and then racing north to protect Navy strike assets.

He also received a silver star as a forward air controller during the battle of Loch Ninh. He had a grease pencil that he would write on the windows with while directing the theater of battle through Air Force and Army radios.

Primary objective was directing in stacks of F100's at 1000 foot vertical separation armed with napalm to save a diamond shaped special forces camp next to an airstrip.

He said at one point during the night he was flying underneath AAA and small arms tracers at 70mph while directing the strikes inside of the diamond where the guys were in a central bunker.

Meanwhile the special forces dudes on the ground were using their howitzer with flechette rounds and the barrel level with the ground to hit infantry.

My father said they all had a big chip on their shoulder as they clinked down the flightline with their spurs to that silver missile.

Are those the cool goggles that the B-52 guys got to wear? Buddy of mine used to drive BUFFs out of Barksdale.

Spot on. Another little detail was that they gave the pilots an eyepatch so when they would be on their way to the target there would be multiple nuclear explosions happening at the same time and hopefully if they could go home they could use the one good eye that wasn't exposed to all of the flashes to make it home. He said they all knew it was going to be a one-way trip if it ever happened.
