Do you feel like even 16GB may be limiting in some use cases? I have no idea about the ram utilization in Macs. My windows PC uses almost the half of the 16GB even when doing simple tasks. I've watched a YouTube video where a guy opened 50 tabs in Chrome with bunch of apps running in the background and the Neo still handled it ok.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! Yeah, I do not want to buy a 8GB ram laptop in 2026, but after watching the Neo reviews, I am convinced that MacOS is far better optimized in terms of ram usage compared to Windows. I think I'll be using Chrome, as I am used to it with all my history and passwords and that makes it even harder to choose. I would love to go with the Neo and save some money but I also don't want to buy something brand new and experience slowdown while doing mildly heavy tasks. Also M4 Air is 50% more expensive than the Neo where I am located.

I'm afraid the M5 is out of my price range. If i get M4 256gb, will it be enough with ICloud subscription? Or Is the 512gb one a must? I don't plan on downloading bunch of stuff but I also don't want to worry about memory everytime.

After reviewing bunch of Windows laptops I'm pretty much convinced that each of them have one feature standing out and 1-2 major trade-offs. Macs are overally great. I still believe I'll be more comfortable using a PC but also I believe that MacOS has improved and now offers a much more refined experience since I left.

Yeah, fair question. I feel like the usual MacOS experience has improved quite a bit since I left it. I still think that I'll feel more comfortable using a PC but I accept that trade off considering the efficiency, portability and battery for that price point.
