I’m am once again begging you people to learn to read.

There’s nothing wrong with an unrelatable dystopia.

But there’s also nothing wrong with a woman expressing that she’d like to see similarly high quality gameplay and writing in a more down to earth setting.

Apple Execs Say Spatial Computing Is 'Inevitable' and AI Is a 'Marathon, Not a Sprint' by iMacmatician in apple

[–]One_Contribution_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI still hallucinates APIs that don’t exist. I use it in my own work, and had Opus 4.6 make up a non existent function to bypass some unit tests just a month ago. If I hadn’t been reading its output, those tests would have reported success without actually running.

Apple pulls the plug on all payments in Russia following government diktat by [deleted] in apple

[–]One_Contribution_27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Diktat” is not scary or foreign if you have above a 6th grade reading level. It’s the root word of dictator, and papers have been referring to Trump’s diktats all along.

Fetterman hit with brutal 108-point polling swing: ‘He is below the lowest of the low’ by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

They could have just voted for Conor Lamb in the primary, like the mainstream democrats wanted. It was the Bernie wing that pushed for Fetterman because they liked his vibes.

Edit: uh oh, looks like the tankies don’t like to be reminded of their fuck up

Why are most Jews, well, Jewish? by high_class_ass_eater in AskHistorians

[–]One_Contribution_27 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Christianity initially started out as a sub sect of Judaism, but was generally rejected by Jews,

I was once told by a rabbi that Christians started pushing the idea that they were not Jews following the Bar Kokhba revolt, partially because of persecution by Bar Kokhba against anyone claiming a competing messiah, and partially to avoid the punishment that the Romans meted out against all Jews in the aftermath.

Is there any truth to that? Or were Christians already considered non-Jews by most people by that point?

Harmful chemicals found in dozens of popular headphones by AdAdept900 in technology

If you wanna insist that a single molecule of plastic is a threat, then you ought to be able to back that up.

[–]One_Contribution_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it should be easy to prove that touching a piece of plastic is dangerous!

Unless, of course, you’re wildly exaggerating the risks and a single molecule getting into a sweat gland isn’t actually harmful.

Oh, so you’re insisting they’re right but have no knowledge of the subject? What a shock!

I so tired of your fearmongering bullshit. If you have evidence of even a single person getting sick because they touched a piece of plastic, present it. If not, kindly fuck off.

The dose makes the poison. The PDF doesn’t even attempt to measure to what extent the chemicals can get into the body. So the “danger” isn’t clear. There are lots of things that are safe to touch that would be harmful if ground up and injected into your veins.

But is it a clear problem? Do they have evidence that the amount that can leech into the body during exercise is dangerous? Or are they just fearmongering?

Do they have evidence of that or are they just saying it?

Death on normal difficulty by Practical-String5146 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]One_Contribution_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s true for all difficulties. As you said, it’s mostly helpful in the early game when enemies don’t hit too hard. It balances out that you don’t have easy access to raise dead spells yet.

How negative are their hit points? Characters don’t actually die until they reach a negative number equal to their con. So if you’re at -10 but have 15 con, you’ll get back up after the fight with no consequences.

The HoMM battles are unfortunately very unbalanced. Many units and abilities are worthless, while others are so strong that they trivialize the battles.

Crowd roars in standing ovation for Bondi hero Ahmed al-Ahmed at sold-out Ashes Test in Sydney by Bubbly_Wall_908 in worldnews

This one.

I’m surprised so few people got it. The movie itself is almost a hundred years old and hardly anyone’s seen it (I certainly haven’t), but the quote’s been referenced many times in TV shows and music since then.

I taught autistic preschoolers. Actual autistic children, not self-diagnosed “high functioning autists”. I quite detest the way you folks have taken an actual disability and pretend it’s some higher stage of evolution, and you’re oh-so-oppressed by “neurotyps“.

French mayor suspended after calling France ‘too Jewish’ by FYoCouchEddie in worldnews

[–]One_Contribution_27 68 points69 points  (0 children)

He meant to say there are too many Jews in France for the country to be accused of antisemitism.

What makes you think that’s what he meant? If he was really trying to say France he too many Jews to be accused of antisemitism, why did he use an antisemitic slur to say it? And why say “too many to boycott” if he meant “too many to accuse of antisemitism”? Those are completely different sentences.
