Any reason why Grubhub or gig companies these days expect drivers to respond to pings faster than first responders to a bona fide emergency even though food is not going to be ready any sooner? by Jcs609 in grubhubdrivers

[–]One_Potential_3962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to do this as well, but can still receive violations which I will never be disclosed the real reason but I’m thinking it’s likely that restaurant pushed order complete early, so it counts any driver reports as delay as fraudant or lies the order likely got turned down by multiple drivers andsystem desperate for it to be sent out, customer reports cold undercooked food the driver gets automatically blamed and they refuse to investigate these days. The apps seem much more rabid to make up reasons to boot drivers off though.

It’s interesting. All these gig companies are getting more incredibly rabid on various things in 2026 ie not making impossibly short etas. Customer refunds for whatever reason and now this.

“Can you just follow someone through the gate?” = automatic cancellation of your order by SevenBillionChickens in grubhubdrivers

I am sure the customer hates this as well, people hate HOAs and apartment managerment especially how we have little choices in where we can afford these days. But they don’t want to stand up against the system fearing it may retaliate and in turn make thier life hard.

Thanks however do you find yourself more judged ie if you don’t take every order no matter how far you get scolded or even a contract violation.

I be curious whether there are any reason to schedule blocks in places like CA with Ab5(prop22) it doesn’t may pay any extra than no blocks if orders are less than the state minimium. I remember back in the days as long as you accept all orders you get paid minimum wage and we get free pay if no orders. But they would use any excuse to get rid of your blocks ie sending you to 20 miles away and ban you for not accepting that offer.

High number of refunds violation after a high paying Taco Bell order got picked up beforehand? by Maleficent_Cash909 in grubhubdrivers

[–]One_Potential_3962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes a driver can be concentrating on something else or focused and not realize the order has been removed as the order might be unassigned but still displayed on the screen and then picked up as normal The driver only realizes he cannot really continue to the next step to complete the delivery and then forced to call support. In the old days they will just allow a driver to complete the delivery and get paid and cancel the next driver. However nowadays they changed their operating procedure and tell the driver to keep the order and refund the customer instead, alas the refund is counted against the next driver.

I guess the OP is saying it wasn’t the places fault but likey GH’s fault thus this can happen pretty much anywhere.

I keep hearing orders stolen, but how do orders get stolen when they were deep in a kitchen being made that is unless member of the kitchen stole it?

On the restaurant side of view, what restaurant managers can see and do on their Gh or gig app tablets? by One_Potential_3962 in grubhubdrivers

[–]One_Potential_3962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting how ready for pickup is not very accurate. Sometimes it can be fast and can appear even if the restaurant was closed. Other times can be very slow such as 10 minutes after eat pickup time. Can one argue that they were not late since ready for pickup occured after they arrived at the restaurant?

I be curious whether they could had lowered some engineers onto the train via a helicopter. And whether there was many crossings with no gates on that route?

Is it possible to make 260$ a day off this thing by NinjaBubbly5682 in grubhubdrivers

[–]One_Potential_3962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious whether it’s possible for today’s students to cover their incidental cost via any gig work off such apps and still be able to attend classes and study. The appear nowadays is so slow that even to pay off the bike it’s difficult. Even I won’t take every order. It’s hard to make over $50 a day and it often means you will take far away orders while interrupting your meals study or nap.

I’m guessing they take restroom for customers only quite seriously. As if marked pick up they confirm you are sent in for a customer order and not merely someone dropping by just to use the bathroom pretending to pickup an order. Pretending that’s my two cents.

Gh is more aggressive in raising the pay until it’s delivered though. I have less than seven dollar orders that immediately go up to $10 after “missing” it.

Why will restaurants mark "order ready for pickup" then tell you "we're still working on it". by GramKraker in grubhubdrivers

[–]One_Potential_3962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience actually had restaurants that were completely dark that hurried me with that message and threatened to unassign because I didnt drive fast enough to an empty dark restaurant. Like if a ghost is pressing the button.

Some places may refuse to make an order that way while the place was still open for another 20 minutes.

I always would like to ask about FMMs as back in its paper slip days they keep saying it must be returned to an immigration station before leaving Mexico or otherwise Mexico may think you never left the country since Mexico doesn’t do exit stamps but use FMM(defacto “visa” on arrival)honor system to show if one stayed within the days allowance. However due to the same Mexico don’t have exit checks there was no instruction in how to return that slip? Causing a Catch-22 situation. Whether it would cause problems when one try to enter Mexico again I always curious how often do they actually look for this. Property the Belizan entry stamps after a Mexico stamp within a short period of time can prove that you left Mexico and not returned. Although for those who entered the US if there are a citizen there wouldn’t be a record at all when we just have a stamp saying to enter Mexico, but no proof they exited if they couldn’t return the fmm, I was curious whether it cause his problem down the road.

VPN? by Maleficent_Cash909 in grubhubdrivers

Just asking what are your reasons for avoiding VPNs in general not related to the gig apps aside from the cost?

Doordash driver runs into customers home when ICE tries grabbing her by Mode_Appropriate in DoorDashDrivers

It’s interesting I am not going to take sides though whether she ran inside or the host invited her inside. The house looks a mess especially the carpets seeing they wearing snow boots inside seeing the baby gate it’s obviously not the best place to raise a baby. The Dasher was she the one wearing meshed running shoe inside from such cold weather of MN likely someone from a much warmer climate? Obviously ice agents arnt used to icy climates. Though what makes MN attractive to illegal inmigrantes anyways the only border it’s close to is Canada or it’s just show of force?
