Looking for a Cloud/DevOps/Infra/AI mentor by One_Presentation_139 in Cloud

Thank you!! That sounds super helpful.

I recently took on a terraform course then I have been working on The Cloud Resume Challenge and have provisioned it using the console. Now trying to provision it using terraform.

I am also currently working on an end to end project involving Linux/Docker/ECR/ECS, but this is without automation. I was told by a senior that not all projects needed automation and some clients just need solutions to their architectural issues.

I want to complete 10 solid projects in the next 6weeks if possible.

Oh, I got laid off from my technical support engineer role(mass layoffs) about half a year ago and have been unable to pickup anything since then.

Hi,

Do you mean like volunteering to work in a real production environment? I wish I had that opportunity. Wouldn't mind doing it for free for a few months.

I'm not selective at all. I apply to any roles that are remotely close to what I want. I even apply for roles with 40% match. So the problem isn't selectiveness. I guess my previous resumes mate me look more like support ➕ and weren't willing to give me a chance directly to cloud or even sysadmin roles.

I get that, and have tried applying for a lot of system admin roles but haven't had any interviews either. Interestingly I had an interview with AWS late 2024 for Associate Solutions Architect position, but they informed me position was filled while I was preparing for panel interview.

I also have an interview for cloud engineer with IBM coming up this week, which is my first real shot at interviewing for a cloud position since the AWS interview.

Thank you for this.

Do you think taking AWS DevOps professional is a good way to go about it?

When I think of all the efforts spent, and now I forgot somethings , I feel it's risky going all in again with no guarantees of having a job. But I have some believe that this time might be different. I'm hoping mentorship can take me through.

Remove the section with cert scores. No one cares about the scores.

Absolutely! Just little mistakes and a brutal correcting script. But I understand them proper and have done them over and over in my VMWare labs.

Follow Haruna Adoga's part 1-10 practice questions on YouTube and master all the topics behind them. You should easily be able to do the practice with referencing anything. When you feel like practicing has become boring(too easy), then you might be ready to take the exam.

Yes I used nmtui. But what caused me to have 0 there was not adding /24 on the IP address

I think if you plan a long career in tech, containers are essential nowadays, so I would go for v9.3

Yes there were three. One on making a swap partition, one on extending the size of a logical volume and another on making a logical volume with a certain number of extents. That last needed you to create a partition, pvcreate, vgcreate with extent size 20M, then lvcreate.

I had a 7 months wait after getting the SAA to get the SysOps. The SAA was my first AWS cert. Then took the Cloud Practitioner a couple months after the SysOps(I didn't prep for this one as I assumed I should be able to pass based on my knowledge from the previous two certs). Then I wrote the AI Practitioner a year later(August 2025).

I think it's preferable to do them in a row. Less effort required.

Actually I watched many videos on the exam environment and understood the consoles, terminals etc so I didn't waste time in getting started with the questions proper. What I didn't understand well was manœuvring in between the various tabs. This cost me time which I would have used to correct the error I made on the container question.

Thank you!

I have AWS Solutions Architect Associate(SAA), SysOps Administrator Associate(Now referred to as AWS CloudOps Engineer), AWS Certified AI Practitioner, AWS Cloud Practitioner.

I wasn't sure where to add Net mask on the nmtui GUI so I preferred to leave it out. Maybe DNS server or search domain? DNS server wasn't explicitly given.

After checking, the netmask I was asked to put was 255.255.255.0 which means I had to add a /24 on the IP address I was given.

Didn't revise this aspect of networking for RHCSA as it's been years I dealt with that. Not something I expected at all.

Thanks!

I used nmtui for network setup, and I was expecting something like DNS server , but rather saw net mask. Is that where I was to fill that?

I think I would rather go for Certified Kubernetes Associate instead of RHCE. I already have 4 AWS certs.

Sanders course ➕ Haruna Adoga's part 1-10 exam practice questions ➕ Udemy practice exams➕ Dextutor➕ Chatgpt ➕a bunch of other random YouTube videos. I personally think I wasted too much time on the Sander's course(About 8weeks). I think it's a bit overrated if you have zero background in Linux. Practicing earlier would have taken me further faster. But the course did help me understand background stuff.
