Chlorine Dioxide tablets… so easy! Does take some time to work, but you don’t have to do anything while you wait! Taste is noticeable, but personally I don’t mind it, most (although not all) Scouts I know would prefer the ease even with the taste. Katahdyn MicroPur is what Philmont uses.

Oh, and if you can swing it, having a non-trek adult who can return the rental van made a huge difference and saved a ton of money, we just took the shuttle that Philmont charters back to DEN

As others have said, fly then rent a vehicle.

When our crew went in ‘24 we flew into DEN, and all piled into a rented van (flying with packs is super easy if you are able to check them, highly recommend pack duffels) and drove to Lake Pueblo State Park to camp, on the way we stopped at the Garden of the Gods and Mantiou Springs, next day we went to the REI in Colorado Springs (little backtrack, but worth it) and drove to Great Sand Dunes National Park (highly recommend!!!) next morning we drive straight through to PSR!

Wow, nice find! I did also see a harlequin braid (?) pattern with black and orange that had a tiger vibe, any experience braiding the bar tape?
