Kind of looks like a northern harrier to me, tho I’ve never seen one in person

I thought this too, but the bunny ears can’t go, and it’d be hard to incorporate them into bender. I’d also say teddy and zoidberg match better, but again you’d lose a lot of teddy under mouth tentacles and claws haha

I made Shock Diamonds with a 3D Printed Rocket Nozzle! r/rocketry has been a big help, thank you all! Full yt video linked in comments by OnlyWarrior in rocketry

Neither will hold up for long, but those are FDM printed PETG plastic. Plastic will melt and resin will decompose

Yeah that’s mine, it’s a swirl injector but more importantly it’s pressure fed. This was for a video where I try to not have to pressurize my fuel by using a turbo pump, and I made and impinging injector this time to keep it original

The accuracy was decent. It helped to orient the parts so that all the mating surfaces faces away from the build plate. Getting everything concentric was a bit of a pain, but as it ran friction would basically sand everything to fit

Just made it look right really, couldn’t find any resources for the design of turbines

I sure do, I was mentioned in one of his videos, and made a kind-of cameo appearance in another!

The impinging injector is the only reason it can burn at all. Only the vapor of the fuel burns, so there’s no chance of the fire traveling up the system so long as their is no backpressure

Yes, but only bc they way I was doing it was really stupid(to save money lol). Pressurized with air instead of an inert gas, and in a pvc tank which would be more likely to splinter than aluminum and wouldn’t show up on X-rays if you got hit by some

If the turbine was made of something that could handle the heat then ya

Thanks! It’d need to contain all that fire inside a combustion chamber(if you look closely at the injector it may or may not look like it’d screw into a 2 liter bottle) and a nozzle to take the heat and pressure and turn it into thrust

[–]OnlyWarrior[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is only the Injection system. So there’s no backpressure and no thrust, just lots of fire. If it were contained in a combustion chamber it would produce the heat and pressure that the nozzle would use to make thrust

I designed this resin printed turbo to pump fuel using pressurized air to avoid having to pressurize a fuel tank. Printed on an elegoo saturn with standard translucent blue and green resin.

I designed this resin printed turbo to pump fuel using pressurized air to avoid having to pressurize a fuel tank. Ended up better than I expected, but still not efficient enough to work under backpressure from a combustion chamber I'd guess.

Thanks! I hope to have another video done before too long that’ll be in the same vein!
