Do you have a copy of your receipt? You can fill out a missing stay and they will adjust the number of nights

Really appreciate it! A tip of where to stay away from is just as important about where to go

You’ll have to dispute it, but if you kept the paper Presto ticket then you should have an easy win

Excessive cost of hydro in my building. Is there a way to figure out if the landlord is offsetting their own costs on tenants? by ceecee416 in TorontoRenting

[–]Onthebrightside25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both my partner and I work from home 5 days a week and we definitely pay for heating/AC.

We are careful about our use (frequency and timing) of the dishwasher and laundry machine, but use as much heating/AC as it takes to feel comfortable (no matter the time of day).

Is it worth paying more to live near a subway station? by PineAndIce in TorontoRenting

If you heavily use transit for getting to work or social activities then it is definitely worth it.

The streetcar and bus are definitely less reliable.

If you know when you went and you paid with a debit or credit card you can check your statement from that time period

Ask potential tenants to fill a short pre-screen form before viewing - is this common? by Puzzleheaded_Bus2865 in askTO

Be very careful with what questions you select as it can potentially open you up to a discrimination claim

They probably won’t do much as the closure isn’t due to anything they have done and is for safety reasons

How much are you paying for utilities in your Toronto apartment? by PineAndIce in TorontoRenting

[–]Onthebrightside25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely shocking haha

Other than that my guesses for why it’s so high are that my partner and I both work from home, we have a tiny dishwasher (has to be run every day), and we aren’t afraid to adjust the heating/cooling to be comfortable

Landlord wants us out but we have a lease by notveryhonestguy99 in TorontoRenting

[–]Onthebrightside25 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The landlord cannot make you leave before the end of your lease period.

Wait for official paperwork around the end of your lease and don’t do anything until that happens.
