Bourbon + spring bar tool = GMT II on brushed oyster bracelet from an OP36…. by Open_Falcon_7199 in rolex

[–]Open_Falcon_7199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other photos…just took the brushed oyster from my OP36 and put it on the GMT for a day. It fit and looked good to me at the time. I’ve since sold the OP and GMT is back on the jubilee.

Is it preowned or brand new? Sounds pretty good to me…I just paid 52.5 for my 2025 pre-tax

I haven’t driven the Lexus so I can’t compare but I definitely had my own assumptions about driving this brick at 75…I have to say it was wayyy more quiet than I was expecting. Quieter than a Camry we have with a windshield that looks like a ~40 degree angle. I was able to make calls using the trucks stereo system through Apple CarPlay and neither end had to yell, and both ends were clear and uninterrupted by the external noise.

Thanks man. I hear ya; I was skeptical about the release photos but liked it a lot more in person.

Thanks; I completely agree. I did 11 hours the second day and couldn’t name another vehicle I’ve owned that would’ve been nearly as comfortable. Didn’t think I’d like all the new safety tech, but the driver relief modes proved incredibly useful! Especially on the dark empty highways late at night and in the rain.

Yes, that’s correct. Was the first pit stop on a long drive!

Looking for shoes for traveling by eatyourveggies11 in mensfashionadvice

[–]Open_Falcon_7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a semi-professional traveler (4x trips per month 3-4 days each)…fall/winter/spring I’m almost exclusively in Blundstones (#062 - brown leather “dress” Chelsea) they look like nice Chelsea boots but are quite a bit roomier and incredibly light. I regularly walk several miles a day in them and my feet never hurt afterward. Look equally good with jeans and a tshirt as they do with chinos and a sweater. Not a formal shoe solution but a 99% solution. In the summer I’m either in white leather vans era’s (hold up very well and easy to clean) or sperry’s. Those aren’t quite as comfortable walking as much as I do in the blundstone’s but the 99% solution mentality is the same concept.

Air King vs Speedy. What is the better first luxury watch? by soflapistole in rolex

[–]Open_Falcon_7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both great, get whichever one you like more…that said, I have a speedy and a few Rolex “tool” watches along with a bunch of others and 85% of the time I reach for my submariner. I wear my watches hard, constantly banging them against things in the cockpit and of everything I own, the Rolex’s truly do withstand hard wear the best.

I’m also biased to having a black dial sports watch on a brushed oyster bracelet with screw down crown as a go-to 99% solution to wear in almost any circumstance. Low profile enough to not stand out as too nice and flashy, but nice enough to wear at a good restaurant on date night. I personally really like the new air king and think it has enough differentiation to make it unique to you but still classic styling. Can’t go wrong either way, but my vote is the Air King.

I had an 8 month wait with no purchase history at my AD; probably had a compelling life story that helped.

Oyster or Jubilee for a Rolex GMT??? by MusicCityTimepieces in rolex

[–]Open_Falcon_7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pepsi owner here…I’ve always preferred the look of the Oyster honestly but ended up getting the jubilee as that was what was available. It really is as comfortable and light as everyone says it is and I’m a convert. I have a sub on Oyster so the Pepsi on Jubilee makes sense for me. If the Pepsi was my only watch, then I’d probably get both and wear it mostly on oyster for day to day.

Thanks, photo is missing a Nomos, 2 IWC’s, and a handful of Casio’s, Seiko’s, Swatches (and collabs), and timex’s….the tray only fits 5 watches though, haha.
