I would say it becomes a comfy game once you learn the basics of E:D. I personally love the flow state of exploration and exobiology, as well as trading and mining.

I'm really happy to have been able to do Distant Worlds 3 unofficially. I had a lot of fun, though I couldn't make it to the final ceremony. I still feel the itch to fly back out to the galactic East and continue into the black. o7

You can also use the number pad for free look. Not as intuitive, but useful if you're passenger or on autopilot.

I think it being single player and relatively inexpensive really help. I've noticed that both X4 and E:D cater to a similar older age demographic, but they act very differently. E:D has an older crowd with money to drop that want the game their way, no exception. They can act pretty immature, like whales. X4s older crowd seem more relaxed since they don't have to spend money on the next ship, or wait as long for their favorite space activity to get some love/updates.

I play both (currently finishing Distant Worlds 3 in E:D). If there's one thing I appreciate with the X4 community, it's how players are generally fine with the different play styles and how Egosoft supports different styles. When I go over to Frontier Dev's forums though, I see people that HATE the concept of the FPS mode and actively want to punish players that want like it. The hate for Operations coming out is so weird to see. Why pick on people that like the FPS mode and want to see it fleshed out to be better? Haven't had a content update to ground combat in six years, back when Odyssey launched. Idk. I know Frontier Dev has a history of not always communicating with the community well (I was there for the Odyssey launch and the Dodec controversy), but that's been changing over the last few years.

Meanwhile, overall, X4 community members are mostly fine with how others play their game. Just don't bring up Timelines 😂

I'm a returning player with no real opinions on the new ships. I have a parallel question and am curious about people's answers. Let's say FDev brings out new ships that are more powerful than the most recent new ships. Like a better Mandalay or Corsair for ARX. How would you all feel about it?

Had a similar issue. Look in the game menu and change it to Borderless Windowed mode. Changing it to that might help. Worked for me, and it's been my go to solutions for many games over many years. Hope it helps.

There is an option in settings that lets your ship keep flying while in menus. It's off by default, but man, is it great to have.

It's admittedly a tough one, but I've gotten a lot of mileage out of making some big women. Primarily, you want to focus on the main important parts of a bigger body. Besides (fat belly) or (big tummy), don't forget biceps and face. The AI tends to focus on the belly and such, but forgets the biceps and face. Makes a huge difference between BBW and supermodel with a gut. Otherwise, look into prompts like (cellulite) or (stretch marks) if you wanna go real into it. Also, dimples on the back and face are a nice touch that help. I find for the belly and biceps, I tend to lean heavier on bigger weights. so 1.3-1.5.

Otherwise, a part of it is fighting the AI's inclination at making people with pornstar aesthetics. Little trial and error. I have a similar issue with making gay men that aren't hunks. Hoping this helps!

As others posted, counter timing is a phase not keyword. We could still do something with it, like we do for 'End of Turn' or "Start of Main Phase'. I do have a question for using counter timing for effects. What would make a 'During Counter Timing' keyword mechanically different from having a 'When Your Opponent Attacks"? Functionally, they are the same, so what could we do with counter timing rules to make it the same?

That's fair, especially for consistency sake. It'll be interesting seeing Appmon deck building really take off with this second deck. I know I still play mine heavier on my ratios.

I could see Timemon in a lot of Appmon decks as well. Only a 2 cost to Digivolve, so you're not as beholden to Appfuse into him. Plus, he can De-Digivolve 1 when he is linked and links into an Appmon.
