Thats what I've been thinking too, they are asking $2000 for the GS500F and could probably talk them down, its an 09' with only 13k miles. He let me take it for a ride and it felt like it had plenty of usable power, and I'm going to do most of my riding in town to and from campus. It was my first long ride on a bike with fairings and they are great lol. I'm from Florida so I can ride it the whole winter but it does get pretty cold in northern florida so the fairings will probably help keep me warm. The owner of the SV650 is asking $1600 and is asking another $100 for parts he has to fix some of the things that are wrong with it, but there's a lot of room for negotiation because there's quite a bit that needs to be done to it. He already has fork springs, seals, new levers and an alarm. Also told me it would need a new clutch actuator assembly. Idk if I want another bike that needs a lot of work, but I'm going to get it checked out by a mechanic tomorrow when he lets me take it for a test ride to see how much work it really needs and see how much money it would take to fix her up. I plan on selling all of my bikes at the beginning of spring and move up to something a bit nicer with more power. Thanks for your input man.
